VBS Thank You Thank you to everyone who contributed in some way to this year’s Vacation Bible School. Thank you for your donations of food, craft materials, supplies, money and prayers. Because of you, we were able to come in under budget while hosting a great program!
A tremendous thank you to our leaders: Lori Daniels-Crafts,
Jayne Harris-Coach, Billie Bonnett-Concession Stand, Jackie Potts,
Publicity, Becky Kirkpatrick-Gym, Kathy Timmins-Van, Linda Thomp-
son, Lunada Stuart, and John Armentrout-Registration. These volun-
teers went above and beyond to make this a great experience for the
children. To our volunteers, Christina Dale, Jackie Potts, Amy
Chewning, TR and Tracy Eidell, Dawn Kittle, Tracey Gooden, Connie Armentrout, Mary Margaret Lantz, Allyson
McNaboe, Beth Markley, Mary deCourten, and our teens: Hannah, Heidi, Vanessa, Tiffany, Carla, Calista, and
Cadie Beth, thank you for coming each night and being flexible enough to do whatever was asked.
Thank you to T.R. Eidell and Nella’s for contributions of food and the use of the popcorn and snow cone
machines. Your generosity brought the concession stand to life! Our offering went to
the Backpack Program of the First United Methodist Church generated 6 bags of gro-
ceries and over $135.00 (the children gave $20.05 in offering as well)!
Through the efforts of all those mentioned, First Baptist Church was able to touch
the lives of 36 children throughout the week.
THANK YOU for your faithfulness to VBS! You are all God’s Champions!! Rose Harvey, VBS Coordinator
Pastoral Search Committee
Our committee has completed the background information on
our church and has been submitted to our area minister.
We met with our Area Minister, Dr. Victor Shields, on July 15,
2015 and began receiving and reviewing resume's for both the
interim minister’s position and a batch for the pastoral position.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, August 5, 2015 and the
committee will be discussing the resumes received for both positions and begin formulating plans for
travel and visits to prospective candidates. Speaking only for myself, I am both excited and nervous
as we enter the next phase of our search.
A HUGH thank you to Dennis McNaboe and the Deacon Board for filling the pulpit for Sunday
worship services through the month of September.
In His heavenly name we continually pray, Jim Bialek, Pastoral Search Committee Chairman

SLLC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Shining Light Preschool is asking FBC folks for help with their Scholarship Program.
Scholarships help with the school’s tuition. Without assistance some children would not be
able to attend. A full scholarship is $100.00 per month or $50.00 for 1/2 scholarship.
But any monetary donation will be appreciated and is tax deductable.
Contact Janie Newlon, Director of SLLC or the church office for more information if you would
like to be a scholarship partner.
SLLC still has a few openings
in the 3 and 4 year old
classes. Contact Janie Newlon at
304-614-4066 or the
church office if you are
interested.
