The new limited edition Vango Inspirations collection for 2009: Zinfandel and Mocha.

Each year Vango develops a new and unique Inspirations collection which is spread across a selection of our very best products.

Exclusive for 2009 is the elegant impression of splendour and opulence attained through marrying two colours: Zinfandel and Mocha. A marriage which oozes the feelings of sumptuousness, refinement and style that we are accustomed to in our own homes.

This sensuous range offers a tent for many camping occasions. Add a bit of luxury and panache to this year’s festivals by staying in one of the fashionable Pitch and VanGo tents. For an impulsive self indulgent break with friends there is the Beta 350 from the Adventure range and for the family looking to add lavishness to their camping holi-days there are tents from our comfortable family range. Warm, sensual and full bodied: the ultimate experience of luxury and home comforts in outdoor surroundings.

Get the most out of your walking poles* by using them to extend out the front door after a day on the hills. This home improvement needn’t cost the earth and can be done without going near to the local DIY store. *Walking poles not included.

TENTS

CONSTRUCTION & PITCHING:

POP-UP: Clever design enables these tents to be pitched in minutes. The continuous poles bring the tent into shape as it is released from the elastic strap. A few pegs secure the tent in position. To pack away, simply reverse the process, the tent quickly folds away into an easily transportable carry bag.

TBS®-TENSION BAND SYSTEM:Used on hoop and tunnel tents Vango has developed the unique TBS® – Tension Band System. The principle of this sys-tem is the support and stabilisation of the pole structure to side winds, by creating an internal bracing system for each pole. This system can be disconnected in calm conditions if desired.

TBS® PRO-LIGHTWEIGHT TENSION BAND SYSTEM:A lightweight version of the tried and trusted TBS® – Tension Band System, utilising a ‘cord’ system instead of the webbing as used on TBS®.

TBS® II-the VERSATILE TENSION BAND SYSTEM:A VERSATILE version of the tried and trusted TBS® – Tension Band System, combining the webbing of TBS® with the exter-nal guying system of the tent.

3-IN-1 OPTION:Combine the footprint with only the fl ysheet, or use fl y, inner and groundsheet for more comfort.

REFLECTIVE WEBBING:Find your tent at night or in adverse conditions.

RAIN GUTTER ZIP COVER:Covers and diverts rain fl ow away from the zip.

POLES:

POWERLITE® (7001-T6 Alloy): Lightweight alloy poles that are made with precision and strength, combined with fl exibility and corrosion resistance.

POWERFLEX®-FIBREGLASS:Vango only uses the highest possible grade of fi breglass for our poles. Used in various lengths and diameters which are specifi cally selected to suit the design of the tent. The steel ferrules and tips are fi nished to give smooth and snag-free travel through pole sleeves and eyelets. All sections are ‘shock-corded’ together for ease of pitching.

POWERPLUS STEEL: Steel poles are used to give maximum strength and stability in many of our tunnel tents.

F10 FLEXLITE POLES: Hard anodized and heat treated aluminium for strength.

COLOUR CODED POLES: Match the pole to the sleeve tab for easy pitching

FLYSHEET FABRICS:

PROTEX® SPU–RN:The combination of ultra-light weight, strength and waterproof qualities makes the SPU-RN fabric one of the fi nest lightweight fabrics on the market. The use of an exceptionally lightweight 30D or 40D nylon 6.6 yarn with a very high 240T thread count has created a tent fabric that is incredibly lightweight yet very strong.

PROTEX® 20D SPU-RN: An incredibly lightweight fabric – 450 metres of this thread will weigh 1 gramme. Ripstop weave and silicon elastomer coating ensure this fabric performs while being the lightest fabric in our range.

PROTEX®®SPU RP-3000: Protex® is the original lightweight ripstop fabric used in Vango tents which uses a 70D polyester yarn and a 210T thread count, to make it an ideal choice for the tents that look to com-bine performance, lightness all at an affordable price.

PROTEX® 1500 / 2000 / 3000 / 5000:A premium PU coated polyester fabric which is coated to a number of different levels of waterproofness dependant on the type of tent it is to be used on. Polyester fabrics, if compared to similar nylons, have greater elasticity and hence are less prone to ripping if you trip on a guyline or pegging point. In addition because polyester absorbs less water than nylon, the tent will sag less when it gets wet.

PROTEX® CM 1500: Used in our Classic range of tents. Cotton mixed with polyester allows the fabric to be seam taped and PU coated resulting in superior protection from water ingress compared to standard cotton tents.

PROTEX® DWR COTTON FLYSHEET: Breathable therefore less condensation.

FIRE RETARDANT TREATMENT: Tents that are described as ‘Fire Retardant’ have their fl ysheet and inner tent fabrics treated to prevent the fabric for continu-ing to burn after a fl ame or similar is placed against the fabric & then removed (in accordance to CPAI-84). It should be noted that these tents are not fi reproof and that they will burn if an ignition source is placed adjacent to the fabric.

TAPED SEAMS:All Vango tents have taped fl ysheet seams taped using a hot-air tape which bonds strongly with the Polyurethane coating on the inside of the fl ysheet fabric, to seal the holes produced by the sewing action of the needles during production.

REPAIR KIT: The repair kit supplied consists of fabric swatches and compo-nents suitable for minor repairs.

LANTERN POINT: Conveniently positioned attachment points for easy hanging of a camping lantern or torch.

CABLE ENTRY POINTS AND TIDIES: Zipped entry point pocket.

CRYSTAL CLEAR WINDOWS: Allows maximum light into living area.

PITCHING DVD: Allows you to see the pitching of the tent in real time.

SLEEPING BAGS

CONSTRUCTION:

OMEGA(P): A patented Omega design will ‘hug’ the body and is engineered to give more heat retention by moving the zips or seams to the bottom of the bag, and reducing possible loss of heat.

SINGLE LAYER CONSTRUCTION: Single layer, stitched through construction. The insulation is held between the shell and lining fabrics.

OFF-SET DOUBLE-LAYER CONSTRUCTION: Two layers of fi lling separated with two layers of scrim to keep the fi ll sliding rather than snagging or lumping.

ASC2-ADVANCED SHINGLE CONSTRUCTION:Double Layer Advanced Shingle Construction utilises a double strata of overlapping layers in combination with some of the most advanced synthetic materials available to create a ther-mal system which retains generated heat more effectively.

TLS-THERMIC LOFT SYSTEM: The Thermic Loft System makes use of a layering technique which combines classic synthetic insulation with a new interlocked lattice construction to produce our most effective thermal insulation system yet. This is achievable thanks to the unique way in which the Thermic Loft System creates and man-ages its thermodynamic abilities. A minimum of stitching though the insulation is used in the combination process to eliminate cold spots and ensure the maximum effi ciency of this advance in insulative technology.

ATC-ADVANCED TRAPEZOIDAL CONSTRUCTION:Angled chevron baffl es prevent down from shifting and in-creases thermal effi ciency by slowing heat loss comparable to similar rectangular shaped baffl es.

INSULATION:

INSULITE® SUPERFINE:Insulite® Superfi ne insulation is a blend of carefully selected fi bres, which combine to produce a fi lling that has excellent loft characteristics, is highly compressible and extremely durable. The fi bres are ideal for use in the new advanced shingle con-struction providing great warmth to weight ratios.

ALUMINISED REFLECTIVE INTERLINING: refl ects radiated heat back to the body, increasing thermal performance but adding little or no weight. The interlining notonly retains heat but it is also breathable.

DOWN: Down is the highest performing insulation – highest loft versus weight. We use it in our Venom and Viper range of bags. The high quality down used in our lightweight sleeping bags has a 600+ fi ll power rating (fi ll power of down is the ability to loft after compression). The quality of this down is measured by the percentage of down versus feather. We use down with a ratio of 90/10 (90% high quality white down to 10% feather).

FABRICS:

POLAIR®: 70 Denier, 190T, plain weave nylon that is highly durable and perfectly suited to our entry level collection. Polair® was the original nylon fabric used in Vango sleeping bags before fabric technology took hold and produced some of the more advanced fabrics that we use in our high quality sleeping bags. Polair® was good enough then and it continues to out perform expectations.

RUCSACS:

A3-ADVANCED ANATOMICAL ADJUSTMENT:Research and testing programmes combined with innovative and creative thinking alongside real-user feedback over a number of years has been integrated into our design process. The results of this process is an exceptionally comfortable load carrying system.

Based around our unique ‘chassis’ frame – Bi-Radial®, the internal frame is built around modern lightweight and durable fabrics and alloys, composing of :

1. Single vertical bar, for longitudinal shape and strength2. Top stabiliser bar, for pack stabilisation and shoulder width3. Mid stabiliser bar, for pack shape and load distribution

In addition, the technically advanced load transfer capability is complimented through contoured internal alloy frame bars and vertical Delrin rods, which distribute and transfer the weight / load to the hips.

The frame system is coupled to the Bi-Crescent dense foam hip-belt which is ergonomically shaped to cup the hips, and accepts load transfer directly from the Delrin rods. The shape of the hip-belt aids load-distribution, preventing any single pres-sure points from forming as well as aiding overall balance when carrying the loaded pack.

In combination, this three-dimensional adjustable system ef-fi ciently transfers load weight from the pack to the base of your spine and into the stable hip area.

SA-SELF ADJUST: A simplifi ed version of the A3 system with the same adjustment. It is robust, highly tested and will fi t just about all back lengths.

QA-QUICK ADJUST:Contoured internal alloy frame bars are coupled with a web-bing ladder arrangement for back length adjustment. Load transfer to the hip-area is achieved via the frame system. The Quick–Step system offers uncomplicated adjustment, comfort and durability.

SIZE TOLERANT BACK SYSTEM: Quick easy adjustment to suit the individual

VENTILATED SYSTEMS:

AIRVENT: Designed to add comfort through improved back ventilation, this lightweight system has proved to be extremely versatile in testing. Utilising state-of-art plastic technology, the pre-formed frame is suspended via non-absorbent open mesh providing a stable platform for the back with maximum ventilation.

AIRFORCE: Constructed using contoured and raised foam air channels covered with highly breathable Air Mesh resulting in a back system performance for medium capacity packs. The channel that is created via the raised foam generates a ‘chimney’ effect that enhances ventilation whilst active.

AIR MESH: Air mesh on body contact points keeps the user dry and cool.

TECHNICAL FABRICS: Some packs are built for lightweight activities, others for long mountain treks, and the stresses and strains on each are different. It is for this reason that we developed such a myriad of different fabrics. Where waterproofness and durability are required we use premium high strength 600 and 1000 denier polyester, triple coated with waterproof polyurethane. Where weight is of paramount importance we utilise extra fi ne, extra dense weave polyester fabrics, with high UV resistance and colour fastness.

EXCEL® LITE: Lightweight 70D ripstop nylon, double siliconised. Specially developed for the Ultralite collection, it combines strength and weight, with high abrasion resistance.

EXCEL® 420D-DIAMOND TPR: A coated ripstop polyester, combines strength via diamond ripstop weaves, abrasion resistance and soft handle.

EXCEL® 600D TP: Textured polyester with a dense weave construction for ad-ditional strength. Vibrant colour fastness make this fabric ideal for most smaller pack applications.

EXCEL® 1000D TP: A heavy-duty, coated polyester fabric, technically appropri-ate for use on areas that are subject to high wear. Extremely tough and abrasion resistant this fabric is critical to the durable performance of many of our packs. Found predominantly in the base areas of our packs.

HYDRATION COMPATIBLE: All our top performance and activity packs, whether it’s a large expedition pack or an all activity daysac are hydration compat-ible. We have added an internal sleeve to take a suitably sized bladder system and “access hole” to take the drinking tube.

HYDRATION INCLUDED: Hydration pack included convenient liquid supply on the move.

RAINCOVER INCLUDED: Detachable Rain Cover keeps gear safe and dry ; bright orange for increased visibility.
