Buckingham Palace is a Royal residence. It was built in 1703 by Duke of Buckingham. In 1826 , King George IV. started to expand the house into a palace. It is now the official home of Queen Elizabeth and the British Royal

It is a beautiful building which contain 735 rooms and three miles of red carpets.

People can watch only 18 rooms. The main rooms of the palace are located on the first floor (piano

nobile) in the west wing It is like a small town with a police station, two post offices, a

hospital, a bar, two sport clubs, a disco, a cinema and a swimming pool.

About 700 people work for the Palace. On the top of the palace there is a flag. If it is down, it means that the Queen is not at home. But if it's up, it means that the Queen is in her residence. She‘s not at home

Many tourists want to see this ceremony, as thirty guardsmen march to the Palace and take the place of the retiring guard.
