March Calendar Maybe at the start of 2017, you finally

mustered up the courage and motiva-

tion to begin your new workout plan

for the year. Maybe you consistently

work out, and are looking to change

your routine. Maybe you are trying to

get back into the gym after an injury or

an extended lapse. Maybe you just want

some advice as you begin a new

workout plan.

No matter your motivation, working

out in a new facility surrounded by unfa-

miliar equipment can be an intimidating

venture with many unanswered ques-

tions. But here at the Lauri Ann West

Community Center, we believe in

providing personal training services that

help you take that first step, answer all

of your questions, and initiate your own

fitness plans. Whether it’s about learn-

ing a new routine, getting back into the

gym, or getting into the gym for the

first time, we believe that the personal

training services can help jumpstart you

toward your fitness goals.

Personal training programs offer a num-

ber of benefits regardless of your age,

fitness experience, and fitness goals that

can propel your fitness journey with

success.

Goals

Setting realistic goals can be one of the

most challenging aspects of a new

workout routine. Personal trainers can

help define your fitness goals and create

a plan that will put you on the right path

to achieving them. Trainers have the

ability to assess your current status and

create personalized workouts. Although

you may have goals in mind for yourself,

personal trainers possess the knowledge

needed to create routines to help you

get there, every step along the way.

Motivation

Maintaining motivation can be difficult

when you are working out on your own,

especially when you are beginning a new

routine. Working out with a personal

trainer can help you feel that someone

else is on your team, invested in your

personal success. This accountability will

help you through the challenges of your

fitness journey and is another great way

to stay motivated.

Instruction and Knowledge

A major challenge when starting a new

workout plan is intimidation—not un-

derstanding exactly how to use equip-

ment or perform specific exercises. In-

struction from personal trainers on how

to properly perform your routine can

help you to get the most out of your

workout, and will help you avoid injury.

This is knowledge that you can take with

you throughout the entirety of your fit-

ness journey.

Community Corner Collections

This March, we hope you’ll consider participating in two local drives. We’ll still be collecting boxes and

packages of diapers for CASA of Allegheny County’s Diaper Bank. In addition, from March 20-April 17,

collections for the Animal Friends’ Chow Wagon will be accepted. Sponsored by Girl Scout Junior Troop 52251,

the drive will help the Chow Wagon support thousands of local pet-owners by supplying donated pet food to

community food pantries. To make a donation, simply drop off unopened bags or cans of dog, cat or rabbit food.

New animal treats, toys and cat litter are also needed. Have a larger donation for the drive? Please email

[email protected].
