It is a technology that allows video magnifiers to enlarge the print so that it is easier for a student with visual loss to see and read.

Visually impaired students can use the SenseView P430 (CCTV) to magnify reading materials; such as textbooks, newspapers , handwritten letters, and greeting cards.

The CCTV can also be use to look at photos, to read recipes, and to cut finger nails.

The Portable Sense View P430 CCTV has a 4.3 widescreen LCD Display. It weights 7.8 ounces. It zooms in and out with the simple touch of a button (from 4x to 22.5x).

Its external and internal cameras are interchangeable. The external camera is used for handwriting.

It contains four levels of brightness and six different color modes for easy view print in color, black and white.

It includes four legs that fold depending on the reading position.

It provides 5 hours of battery life. It has a battery meter that can be turn on to verify how much power is left.

The Portable SenseView not only assists students with their reading materials , it makes them feel comfortable when they are using the device in front of their peers.

“The Portable SenseView is designed to look like a video game, and students love to use it. We also like the quality of the display and the fact that it works well on most types of text, the magnification range, and the option to choose from several viewing modes.” Lee Huffman

I contacted Enablemart a famous online retail store that sells this product and this is what one of the sales representatives had to say about it:

“With a MSRP of 795.00 The SenseView is a great portable, hand-held alternative to desk mounted magnifiers that can cost up to $3500.00. The draw back to this unit vs. a more traditional desk mounted magnifier is that it can only magnify a small block of text at a time requiring the user to physically slide the unit across the text”.

I believe that the Portable SenseView will benefit any student who is visually impaired. It will not only facilitate the reading of materials in school but it will also help with the basic regular life activities.

The regular vision magnifiers only allows students to use it while connected to a monitor or TV. The P430 allows them to go everywhere and allows them to be able to read.

We want students to go home and do their homework, to go to a museum and be able to see and read about the artifacts; with the assistance of the Portable Sense View, it will be possible for them to do that and more.
