the University of the West of England has over 30,000 students across all campuses the largest being Frenchay. All major events are on the Frenchay campus with Freshers’ Week hosting the Freshers Fair and Allstars party.

The university has a large and diverse

population of students. As UWE is a multi-

site university we have a presence across

all 4 campus sites: St Matthias, Glenside,

Hartpury and Bower Ashton. A large range

of marketing opportunities to reach the

student population are available such as

a newspaper, plasma screen, the website

and poster boards. We believe we host the

biggest Freshers Fair in the country with

an approximate footfall of 16,000 students

(2012). We are flexible to meet the client

needs in these changing times.

Freshers Guide

Advertise to our new students before they

get to university in our popular and widely

read Freshers Guide. It is mailed out to the

homes of students in the Freshers mailing

and can be read by both students and

parents. Beat your competitors and get your

name known to our students in the only

print guide before they get to UWE Bristol.

We distribute over 10,000 copies of the A5

colour welcome guide with 3,000 unique

views online. We offer a range of advert sizes

to suit any budget, starting from £300 for a

quarter page.

Each year we send out the Freshers’ Guide,

full of information of what to expect when

students get to university. We distribute

10,000 to our freshers between mid

August and early September. Included in

Post-ArrivAlFreshers’ FairWe believe we host the largest Freshers Fair set in a prime Exhibition and Conference Centre, with a 5,000 square feet, on the Frenchay campus. We host 220 stalls inside and outside with 16,000 students attend regularly which is around 2/3rds of our student population. We can accommodate large displays with success from last year’s

campaigns such as Domino’s, Bristol’s nightclubs and Relentless. There is also the opportunity to accommodate larger advertising vehicles in the outside arena

space.

student led teaching Awards

The Student Led Teaching Awards recognise

the good practice of teaching and support

staff around the university. Last year’s

awards had 10 categories ranging from Staff

Mentor/Placement Supervisor Award to

the Student Experience Impact Award. The

target audience for promotional material

is all students on campus, encouraging

them to nominate staff to receive awards.

A ceremony will be held in the city centre

in March to celebrate achievement of both

staff and students.

We have a strong varsity tradition at UWE

Bristol that is held in various high profile

city centre locations. The events are all

highly populated with the rivalry between

both universities in Bristol. The top 3 profile
