Cintra 404Variable bandpass between0.1 and 2.0 nm for highresolution and sensitivity

The high resolution Cintra 404 allowsvariable bandpass down to 0.1nm.Overlaid scans of the SAME benzenevapour sample are at 0.1, 0.5, 1.0and 2.0 nm bandpass. Note that asthe slit width decreases the 5 broadpeaks are resolved to many narrowerpeaks providing more informationabout the sample. Also the peakmaxima increase by an order ofmagnitude showing increasedsensitivity with decreased bandpass.

Real Applications

Simplify Your Tasks

The outstanding optical specificationsof the Cintra series allows applicationswhich would not be normallyavailable on such low costinstruments.

Here are some examples for you:

Cintra 202 - 0.2 ppbphosphorus detection limit

The extended wavelength range of theCintra 202 allows more light in theimportant 650 to 1025 nm range.The red scan is the raw light from aCintra 202 and the blue scan is theraw light from a PMT detector.

By using a method at 830 nm, theCintra 202 can measure phosphorusto 0.2 ppb! This cannot be done on aPMT type UV-VIS as there is virtuallyno light at this wavelength.Competitors quote phosphorusdetection limits of 200 ppb using a470 nm method. As well as giving1000 times better detection limit, the830 nm method also producescomplexes within 10 minutes whichare stable for up to 24 hours allowinglarge batches of samples to beprocessed. The 470 nm methodproduces complexes after a longstabilisation time and these are stablefor only 1 - 2 hours. The 830 nmmethod gives sensitivity and ability toanalyse large batches with confidence.

Cintra 202 and DRS 1150

Military reflectance applicationin the near infra red

The Cintra 202 with the extendedrange DRS 1150 allows reflectanceanalysis from the visual region all theway up to 1,150 nm. Measurementsin the region 800nm to 1150nm areof particular interest for militaryimaging applications where it isdesirable to know the relflectance dueto natural light sources and infra-redlasers.

This application has been successfullyused in various military institutions toassist the reasearch and developmentof Battle Dress Uniforms, militarypaints and other military items to beinvisible to night vision devices andinfra red lasers.

The scans show various militarymaterials and their reflectivityfrom 375 to 1125nm.

General Application - a general purposeapplication used for wavelength scanning, timescanning and fixed point measurements. Automationof these measurements and scan calculations andtransformations are also available.

Colour Analysis - calculates a range of colourco-ordinate schemes derived from tristimulus values.

Kinetics / Time Studies - performs photometricmeasurements including wavelength scans and multi-cell measurements as a function of time.

System Validation Application (SVA)

Meet Regulatory Requirements

The System Validation Application (SVA)allows the user to test the Cintra toensure that it meets any criteria set byPharmacopoeia, GMP or GBC’s finaltest criteria for IQ/OQ andperformance verification. This wizardstyle application guides the user througheach step of the test. Once the test iscompleted a report is generated whichclearly shows test results and pass/failcriteria.

Modular drop-in accessoriesfor quick and easy changeoverIt takes only seconds to replace thestandard cell holder with a specialisedeasy-to-use cell holder. Automatedaccessories plug directly into built-inports in the sample compartment, andare automatically recognised by theinstrument. There is no need forexpensive add-on interfaces orstructural extensions. Just drop in theaccessory and start analyzing.

1 x 1 cell holders forspecialised applications

• Micro-cell holder with simple adjustmentof horizontal and vertical position for maximising light throughput.

• Variable path length cell holder forrectangular cells with path lengthsbetween 5 and 100 mm.

• Cylindrical cell holder with simplespring clip action. Holds cells of upto 100 mm path length.

• Slide/solid sample holder for solidsamples up to 10 mm thick.

Sample changers for increasedsample throughputTwo types of sample changer areavailable. They provide speed andprecision in the positioning of yoursamples for fast and accuratemeasurements of sample batches. Dual Carousel sample changers

The 7 x 7 sample changer is availablein standard and water-thermostattedversions. Increased Productivity

Thermostattable cell holders fortemperature-sensitive analysesWater-thermostatted cell holders areavailable in single cell or samplechanger (linear or carousel)configurations. When connected to aconstant-temperature circulating waterbath, these cell holders ensureconstant temperature.

For precise and rapid temperaturecontrol, a range of Peltier-effectthermocells is available in single cellor sample changer (linear or carousel)configurations. Peltier-effect controllersare useful in applications where anaccurate constant temperature or anaccurate controlled temperature rampis required. Optional sampleimmersion probes are available foraccurate monitoring of the truesample temperature.

High speed SDS-270 autosampler for increasedproductivity

In conjunction with the sipper, theSDS-270 autosampler provides highspeed automated analysis. Samplesare contained in three racks,permitting different tube sizes withina batch. The autosampler is totallycontrolled by the software via an easy-to-use interface. A built-in diaphragmpump provides a continuous stream ofclean rinse solution.

Total Integrating Sphere

The total integrating sphere is idealfor measuring the total reflectancefrom solid samples such as plastics,paper, textiles and coated surfaces.The sphere provides a transmissionposition, making it suitable for themeasuremnt of turbid or scatteringsamples. Spheres are available up to800nm for standard DRS applicationsand the DRS 1150 for NIRapplications up to 1150 nm.

Auto Sipper for automaticsample introductionThe auto-sipper removes the need forcell handling. Reflectance Spheres*

The reflectance spheres are a bariumsulfate coated, integrating sphere, withlight detection by a built-in photomultiplier tube for the standard sphere,or a silicon photodiode for theDRS1150. The accessory is fitted with10 mm cell holders and solid sampleholders for both sample and referencebeams. Capable of measuring total%transmittance, absorbance andreflectance.
