Utilization of Calamansi Peelings
(Citrofortunella Microcarpa) into Homemade Foot
Powder

RationaleThis study aims to produce a
cheaper foot powder for consumers to have. We can achieve this goal by making a home made product out of waste materials such as the calamansi peelings which are usually discarded after using.
RationaleWe can achieve the goal of providing
a cheaper foot powder by making a home made product out of waste materials such as the calamansi peelings which are usually discarded after using. Usually, we throw the peelings away and we usually ignore its uses. So, these waste materials can be placed in a separate bag for future uses.
Statement of the Problem
Main Problem:-Can foot powder from Calamansi Peelings be produced?
Sub-problems:1. Is the product cheaper than the commercial powder?2. Will the foot powder from calamansi prevent foot odor?3. Can this product absorb enough sweat?
Methodology
Drying the Calamansi PeelingsThe calamansi peelings need to be
dried so it would be possible for us to pound it. These will be air dried for at least 2 days and sun dried for at least 5days.
Methodology
Pulverization of the PeelingsThe dried peelings will be pounded
and those which are not totally dried up yet will be sun dried for one more day.
Methodology
Preparation of EquipmentThe first thing to do is to make the tester. The clips will be attached to the pieces of wood first. Afterwards, two sides of the funnel will be nailed to the pieces of wood. To keep the equipment balanced, a piece of plywood will be nailed at its base.
Methodology
Equipment Expectation:
Wet Cloth Preparation
Methodology
Wet Cloth Preparation20ml water will be poured in the 8.5x11in piece of Oxford Cloth. After this, 10mg of foot powder will be sprinkled. This step and the following step will be repeated thrice per type of foot powder.
Methodology
Water CollectionClip the cloth on both clips. Turn the Axle for 15times. Measure the amount of water gathered in the beaker under the funnel. After this, the data gathered during the experimentation will be compared through a statistical test.
• Calamansi Peelings will be dried and will be pulverized.
air dried for 2 days and sun dried for 5 days.

Data Gathering
During the adsorption test, the wheel and axle will be turned for fifteen times only. To get the data, there will be a container (specifically, a beaker) under the equipment. The beaker will be used so that it would be easy to directly have the exact measurement of the water extracted. It is expected that there would be different data based on the type of powder used.
Statistical Tool
This type of test will be used because we have only two populations in this study.
