Product ProfileIntroductionDJIMini2boastsafoldabledesignandanultralightweightoflessthan249g.FeaturingaDownwardVisionSystemandInfraredSensingSystem,DJIMini2canhoverandfly indoorsaswellasoutdoorsandautomatically initiateReturn toHome (RTH).Witha fully stabilized3-axisgimbaland1/2.3”sensorcamera,DJIMini2shoots4Kvideoand12MPphotos.Enjoy IntelligentFlightmodessuchasQuickShotsandPanorama,whileQuickTransferandTrimmedDownloadmakedownloadingandeditingphotosandvideosmoreconvenientandefficient.
DJIMini2comesequippedwith theDJIRC-N1 remotecontroller,whichboastsDJI’s long-rangetransmissionOCUSYNCTM2.0technology,offeringamaximumtransmissionrangeof6mi(10km)andvideoqualityofupto720pfromtheaircrafttotheDJIFlyapponamobiledevice.Theremotecontrollerworksatboth2.4GHzand5.8GHz,and iscapableofselecting thebest transmissionchannelautomaticallywithout latency.Theaircraftandcameracaneasilybecontrolledusing theonboardbuttons.
DJIMini2hasamaximumflightspeedof36mph(57.6kph)andamaximumflighttimeof31minutes,whilethemaximumruntimeoftheremotecontrollerissixhours.
Preparing the AircraftAllaircraftarmsarefoldedbeforetheaircraftispackaged.Followthestepsbelowtounfoldtheaircraft.
1.Removethepropellerholder.
2.Removethegimbalprotectorfromthecamera.
3.Inthefollowingorder,unfoldthefrontarms,reararms,andallthepropellers.
Maximumflighttimewastestedinanenvironmentwithnowindwhileflyingataconsistent10.5mph(17kph)andthemaximumflightspeedwastestedatsealevelaltitudewithnowind.Thesevaluesareforreferenceonly. Theremotecontrollerreachesitsmaximumtransmissiondistance(FCC)inawide-openareawithnoelectromagneticinterferenceatanaltitudeofapprox.400ft(120m).Themaximumtransmissiondistancereferstothemaximumdistancethattheaircraftcanstillsendandreceivetransmissions.Itdoesnotrefertothemaximumdistancetheaircraftcanflyinasingleflight.Themaximumruntimewastestedinalaboratoryenvironmentandwithoutchargingthemobiledevice.Thisvalueisforreferenceonly. 5.8GHzisnotsupportedinsomeregions.Thisfrequencybandwillautomaticallybedisabledintheseregions.Observelocallawsandregulations.

It isrecommendedtoinstallagimbalprotectortoprotectthegimbalanduseapropellerholdertosecurethepropellerswhentheaircraftisnotinuse.
ThepropellerholderandUSBchargerareonlyincludedinthecombopackage. Unfoldthefrontarmsbeforeunfoldingthereararms. Makesurethegimbalprotectorisremovedandallarmsareunfoldedbeforepoweringontheaircraft.Otherwise,itmayaffecttheaircraftself-diagnostics.
Preparing the Remote Controller1. Removethecontrolsticks fromtheirstorageslotsontheremotecontrollerandscrewthem into
place.2. Pulloutthemobiledeviceholder.Chooseanappropriateremotecontrollercablebasedonthetype
ofmobiledevice.ALightningconnectorcable,MicroUSBcable,andUSB-Ccableareincludedinthepackaging.Connecttheendofthecablewithouttheremotecontrollerlogotothemobiledevice.Makesurethemobiledeviceissecured.
IfaUSBconnectionpromptappearswhenusinganAndroidmobiledevice,selecttheoptiontochargeonly.Otherwise,itmayresultinconnectionfailure.
4. AllIntelligentFlightBatteriesareinhibernationmodebeforeshipmenttoensuresafety.UsetheUSBchargertochargeandactivateIntelligentFlightBatteriesforthefirsttime.

AircraftDJIMini2containsaflightcontroller,videodownlinksystem,visionsystem,propulsionsystem,andanIntelligentFlightBattery.
Flight ModesDJIMini2has three flightmodes,plusa fourth flightmode that theaircraftswitches to incertainscenarios.FlightmodescanbeswitchedviatheFlightModeswitchontheremotecontroller.
Normal Mode:TheaircraftutilizesGPSandtheDownwardVisionSystemtolocateitselfandstabilize.IntelligentFlightModeisenabledinthismode.WhentheGPSsignalisstrong,theaircraftusesGPStolocate itselfandstabilize.WhentheGPSisweakandthe lightingconditionsaresufficient,theaircraftusestheDownwardVisionSystemtolocateitselfandstabilize.WhentheDownwardVisionSystemisenabledandlightingconditionsaresufficient,themaximumflightaltitudeangleis25°andthemaximumflightspeedis10m/s.
Sport Mode:InSportmode,theaircraftusesGPSandtheDownwardVisionSystemforpositioning.InSportmode,aircraftresponsesareoptimizedforagilityandspeedmakingitmoreresponsivetocontrolstickmovements.Themaximumflightspeedis16m/s,maximumascentspeedis5m/s,andmaximumdescentspeedis3.5m/s.
Cine Mode:Cinemode isbasedonNormalmodeandtheflightspeed is limited,makingtheaircraftmorestableduringshooting.Themaximumflightspeedis6m/s,maximumascentspeedis2m/s,andmaximumdescentspeedis1.5m/s.
Theaircraftautomaticallychanges toAttitude (ATTI)modewhen theDownwardVisionSystem isunavailableordisabledandwhentheGPSsignal isweakor thecompassexperiences interference.When theDownwardVisionSystem is unavailable, the aircraft cannotposition itself or brakeautomatically,whichincreasestheriskofpotentialflighthazards.InATTImode,theaircraftmaybemoreeasilyaffectedbyitssurroundings.Environmentalfactorssuchaswindcanresultinhorizontalshifting,whichmaypresenthazards,especiallywhenflyinginconfinedspaces.
ThemaximumspeedandbrakingdistanceoftheaircraftsignificantlyincreaseinSportmode.Aminimumbrakingdistanceof30misrequiredinwindlessconditions. DescentspeedsignificantlyincreasesinSportmode.Aminimumbrakingdistanceof10misrequiredinwindlessconditions. TheresponsivenessoftheaircraftsignificantlyincreasesinSportmode,whichmeansasmallcontrolstickmovementontheremotecontrollertranslatesintotheaircraftmovingalargedistance.Bevigilantandmaintainadequatemaneuveringspaceduringflight. DuringvideomodeinNormalorCinemode,theflightspeedislimitedwhenthepitchofthegimbalisnear-90°or0°inordertoensureshootingisstable.Iftherearestrongwinds,therestrictionwillbedisabledtoimprovethewindresistanceoftheaircraft.Asaresult,thegimbalmayvibratewhilerecording.

2. MakesureBluetoothandWi-Fi isenabledonthemobiledevice.LaunchDJIFlyandapromptwillautomaticallyappeartoconnecttotheaircraft.
3. TapConnect.Once successfully connected, the fileson the aircraft canbeaccessedanddownloadedatahighspeed.Notethatwhenconnectingthemobiledevicetotheaircraftforthefirsttime,youneedtopresstheQuickTransferbuttontoconfirm.
Method 2: mobile device is connected to the remote controller1. Makesure that theaircraft isconnected to themobiledevicevia the remotecontrollerand the
motorshavenotstarted.2. EnableBluetoothandWi-Fionthemobiledevice.3. LaunchDJIFly,enterplayback,andtap intheupperrightcornertoaccessthefilesontheaircraft

Return to HomeTheReturntoHome(RTH)functionbringstheaircraftbacktothelastrecordedHomePointandlandswhentheGPS issignal isstrong.TherearethreetypesofRTH:SmartRTH,LowBatteryRTH,andFailsafeRTH.IftheaircraftsuccessfullyrecordedthehomepointandtheGPSsignalisstrong,theRTHwillbetriggeredwheneither theuserstartsSmartRTH,theaircraftbattery level is low,or thesignalbetween the remotecontrollerand theaircraft is lost.RTHwillalsobe triggered inotherabnormalscenariossuchasifthereisalossofvideotransmission.
GPS Description
Home Point 10
ThedefaultHomePoint is the first locationwhere theaircraft receivedastrongormoderatelystrongGPSsignal (wherethe iconshowswhite). It isrecommendedtowaituntil theHomePoint issuccessfullyrecordedbeforeflying.After theHomePoint is recorded, theaircraftstatus indicatorblinksgreenandapromptappearsinDJIFly.IfitisnecessarytoupdatetheHomePointduringtheflight(suchasiftheuserchangesposition),theHomePointcanbemanuallyupdatedunderSafetyinSystemSettingsonDJIFly.
Smart RTHIftheGPSsignalissufficient,SmartRTHcanbeusedtobringtheaircraftbacktotheHomePoint.SmartRTHisinitiatedeitherbytapping inDJIFlyorbypressingandholdingtheRTHbuttonontheremotecontroller.ExitSmartRTHbytapping inDJIFlyorbypressingtheRTHbuttonontheremotecontroller.
Low Battery RTHWhentheIntelligentFlightBatterylevelistoolowandthereisnotenoughpowertoreturnhome,landtheaircraftassoonaspossible.Otherwise,theaircraftwillfallwhenitrunsoutofpower,resultingintheaircraftbeingdamagedandotherpotentialhazards.
Toavoidunnecessarydangerdueto insufficientpower,DJIMini2will intelligentlydeterminewhetherthecurrentbatterylevelissufficienttoreturnhomebasedonthecurrentlocation.LowBatteryRTHis
Themaximumdownloadratecanonlybeachievedincountriesandregionswherethe5.8GHzfrequencyispermittedbylawsandregulations,whenusingdevicesthatsupport5.8GHzfrequencybandandWi-Ficonnection,andinanenvironmentwithoutinterferenceorobstruction.If5.8GHzisnotallowedbylocalregulations(suchasinJapan),themobiledeviceoftheuserwillnotsupportthe5.8GHzfrequencybandortheenvironmentwillhavesevereinterference.Underthesecircumstances,QuickTransferwillautomaticallyswitchtothe2.4GHzfrequencybandanditsmaximumdownloadratewillreduceto6MB/s. MakesurethatBluetooth,Wi-Fi,andlocationservicesareenabledonthemobiledevicebeforeusingQuickTransfer. WhenusingQuickTransfer,itisnotnecessarytoentertheWi-Fipasswordonthesettingspageofthemobiledeviceinordertoconnect.AfterswitchingtheaircrafttoQuickTransfer,launchDJIFlyandapromptwillappeartoconnecttheaircraft. Theaircraftwillautomaticallyenterflightmodebydefaultafterrestarting.QuickTransfermustbeenteredmanuallyagainifrequired. UseQuickTransferinanunobstructedenvironmentwithnointerferenceandstayawayfromsourcesofinterferencesuchaswirelessrouters,Bluetoothspeakers,orheadphones.

triggeredwhenthe IntelligentFlightBattery isdepletedtothepointthatthesafereturnof theaircraftmaybeaffected.
TheusercancancelRTHbypressingtheRTHbuttonontheremotecontroller. IfRTH iscancelledfollowinga lowbattery levelwarning,theIntelligentFlightBatterymaynothaveenoughpowerfortheaircrafttolandsafely,whichmayleadtotheaircraftcrashingorbeinglost.
Theaircraftwillautomatically land if thebattery level isextremely low.Theactioncannotbecanceledbuttheremotecontrollercanstillbeusedtoreducethedescentspeedoradjustthedirectionoftheaircraft.
Theaircraftwilllandautomaticallyifthebatterylevelwillonlylastlongenoughtodirectlydescendandlandfromitscurrentaltitude.Theactioncannotbecanceledbuttheremotecontrollercanbeusedtoadjustthedirectionoftheaircraft.
Failsafe RTHIf theHomePointwassuccessfully recordedandthecompass is functioningnormally,FailsafeRTHautomaticallyactivatesaftertheremotecontrollersignalislostformorethan11seconds.
Whenthefirmware isupdatedtov1.1.0.0andabove, theaircraftwillflybackwards for50mon itsoriginalflightrouteandascendtothepresetRTHaltitudetoenterStraightLineRTH.TheaircraftentersStraightLineRTHiftheremotecontrollersignalisrestoredduringFailsafeRTH.WhentheaircraftfliesbackwardsalongtheoriginalflightpathandthedistancefromtheHomePoint is lessthan20m,theaircraftstopsflyingbackwardontheoriginalflight routeandentersStraightLineRTHat thecurrentaltitude.
InDJIFly,userscanchangethesettingsofhowtheaircraftrespondswhentheremotecontrollersignalislost.TheaircraftwillnotexecuteFailsafeRTHiflandorhoverhasbeenselectedinthesettings.
Other RTH ScenariosTherewillbeaprompt to initiateRTH if thevideo linksignal is lostduring flightwhile the remotecontrollerisstillabletocontrolthemovementsoftheaircraft.RTHcanbecancelled.
RTH Procedure (Straight Line)1. TheHomePointisrecorded.2. RTHistriggered.3. Iftheaircraftislessthan20mfromtheHomePointwhenRTHbegins,itwillhoverinplaceandnot
returntohome(firmwareversionv1.1.0.0isrequired.Otherwise,theaircraftwilllandimmediately). If theaircraft is furtherthan20mfromtheHomePointwhenRTHbegins, itwill returnhomeata
horizontalspeedof10.5m/s.4. AfterreachingtheHomePoint,theaircraftlandsandthemotorsstop.
TheaircraftcannotreturntotheHomePointiftheGPSsignalisweakorunavailable.IftheGPSsignalbecomesweakorunavailableafterRTHistriggered,theaircraftwillhoverinplaceforawhilebeforelanding. ItisimportanttosetasuitableRTHaltitudebeforeeachflight.LaunchDJIFlyandsettheRTHaltitude.InSmartRTHandLowBatteryRTH,ifthecurrentaltitudeoftheaircraftislessthantheRTHaltitude,itautomaticallyascendstotheRTHaltitudefirst.IfthealtitudeoftheaircraftreachesorishigherthantheRTHaltitude,itwillflytotheHomePointatitscurrentaltitude.

Using the Vision SystemsWhenGPSisunavailable,theDownwardVisionSystemisenabledifthesurfacehasacleartextureandthereissufficientlight.TheDownwardVisionSystemworksbestwhentheaircraftisatanaltitudeof0.5to10m.Ifthealtitudeoftheaircraftisabove10m,theVisionSystemmaybeaffected.Extracautionisrequired.
