Students at USCB become part of the community by attending a USC system university with deep roots in the Lowcountry. Eligibility for the benefit is determined by Veterans Affairs and is limited to veterans who served in the armed forces after September 10, 2001. University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is pleased to participate in the Yellow Ribbonprogram and to offer eligible military veterans and their dependents an opportunity to attendUSCB tuition-free.

The Yellow Ribbon GI Educational Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program)is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans' Educational Assistance Act of 2008.Effective for the 2010-2011 academic year, USCB is partnering with the U. S.Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to offer the Yellow Ribbon Program. Throughveteran's benefits and USCB's financial contribution, many non-resident veteransand their dependents can take advantage of an education that is tuition-free.

Application Process

Step 1: If eligible, students should apply for benefits under the Post – 9/11GI Bill with the Department of Veteran Affairs at www.gibill.va.gov/

Step 2: Apply for admission to USCB at www.uscb.edu

Step 3: Upon acceptance to USCB, forward your Certificate of Eligibilityto the Financial Aid /Veteran Affairs Office to be considered for the YellowRibbon Program.
