Onaga believes that wood fibre represents a viable alternative to conventional fillers and reinforcements, such as kaolin, talc, calcium carbonate and glass fibre. North American consumption of wood/plastic composites is currently of the order of 205,000 tonnes/y. Inferred reserves here are 397,000 tonnes, with an average ore content of 69.3%. There are several promising barytes deposits in Uzbekistan and Karagashlinsky, located near the Krasnogorsk settlement, was selected for mining first because it is the most accessible deposit in the area.
