2002February 8, 2002 – The Olympic Games start in Salt Lake City, Utah.
November 8, 2002 - The United Nations passes Resolution 1441. It forces Hussein and Iraq to disarm.
2003February 1, 2003 - the Space Shuttle Columbia explodes. (All seven astronauts inside are killed.)
December 13, 2003 - Saddam Hussein is captured in a small bunker.
2004July 4, 2004 - The groundbreaking ceremony at Ground Zero occurs in NYC.
November 2, 2004 - President George W. Bush wins reelection.
2005July 26, 2005 - Discovery goes into orbit on a mission that returns to earth safely.
August 29, 2005 - Hurricane Katrina strikes the Gulf Coast.
