MO reove r , a series of bombing incidents in Egypt during August nearly caused milit ary retali ation against Libya. Targets of. hi s past intrigues include Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan; Iran, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Chad, Sudan,Ethiopia,~Kenya, Ireland, Philippines, and most nations of Western Europe. - Qadhafi believes his cause is just and makes no secret of his involvement and support for a wide range of terrorist activities. His foreign policy reflects a xenophobic bedouin interpretation of Islam and pan-Arabi sm, hatred for the former colonial powers, and imputed Western responsibility for present day Arab problems. He views Zionism as the ultimate product of colonial exploitation and the foremost obstacle to restoration of Arab unity. - Qadhafi keeps his own counsel and is not easily swayed by the op in io ns of ot he rs. As a res ult, his involve ment with ter rorist a ctiv- ities proba bly wi ll continue. Even were Qadhafi to cease al 1 support of .terrorism, the world community would continue to reap a bitter harvest from his past activities.
