“The professional face of modern military spouses has changed significantly.”
“I attended the SLDC course as not only a spouse but also as an active duty service member of 20 years. I was not only impressed by the curriculum and information covered, I was also fascinated with the amount of knowledge and experience bought forth by the other spouses. The course was inspiring, educational and at times very entertaining. In addition to the new sense of preparedness for the next phase in my spouse’s career, I gained invaluable friendships and relationships with spouses from all different walks of life, different branches of service and different countries.” Jamila, Army Spouse
“The Spouse Leadership Development Course provided a program of study and wealth of knowledge that will profoundly contribute to my personal mission as a Coast Guard Command Spouse, I feel privileged as a sister service spouse to have been given such an opportunity to learn from the Army.” Marcy, Coast Guard Spouse
“As a foreign military spouse of an allied nation it became very apparent that the role of a spouse in my country was very different to that which is expected of the military spouse here in the America military. This intrigued me and so I enrolled into the SLDC and embarked on a journey. The SLDC highlighted many aspects of support available to military families. During this time, I also increased my own support network. Overall the SLDC was a positive experience. It has empowered me with the knowledge I need in the advisory role I now have arrived at and it has given me a solid platform, so I can stand beside my Soldier/ my battle buddy. I highly recommend all international spouses take the opportunity to attend on the SLDC. The experience is unforgettable.” Leah, International Spouse
“Reserve spouses benefit greatly from the SLDC. They walk away with a wealth of information regarding available resources and build relationships with their Active Duty counterparts.” Betsy, Army Reserve Spouse
