We hope that you and your child/children have enjoyed getting back
into the routines of school life! We seem to have crammed a lot into a
few short weeks and have much to look forward to in the build up to
half term. Some of the highlights this term so far have been our expe-
rience days which include a Mayan guest, learning new circus skills,
bread baking workshops with Warburtons and a trip to the Black
Country Museum. These experiences provide the children with
knowledge and skill rich opportunities to help them consolidate their
learning. Our European Day of languages and National Poetry Day
have also enriched our curriculum and supported our priority to equip
our pupils with the opportunity to be inspired and grow for fullness
of life. We are very much looking forward to some of our other
planned events such as our whole school Marble Day (developing our
design technology problem solving skills) our Author visit (Thank you
Tilly Mann for winning this terrific prize) and our Harvest Festival to
give thanks to what we are blessed with.

Our Pledge to Reduce Waste!
Mrs Theyer and her Eco crew were quietly getting on with their recycling venture last year but this work has grown and grown. We were very proud to be visited by The Gloucestershire Echo this week there re-port can be viewed here: https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/cheltenham-news/you-need-never-send-crisp-3389901 Our recycling project has been well received by our community and has prevented thousands of crisp packets from entering landfill. Half of the money raised so far through this recycling project is used by the school to support fur-ther recycling and the other half has been donated to the Cheltenham-based medical imaging charity, Cobalt. Remember we are also collecting packaging from peanuts, popcorn, biscuits and confectionery for other similar schemes and even hope to soon join one to recycle used toothpaste tubes.
Watch out for our next Green Recycling Scoop Extra!

A Mayan visitor told Y5 what it was like
to live as a Mayan!
National Poetry Day and our Y1-Y6
Open Day event was full of POETRY!
Y6 have settled well into their role
across the school, even ordering the
stock for tuck shop!
The children loved reading all of the facts around the school and
taking part in Spanish workshops. Thank you Mrs Sutton!

Community Walk to School Success!
Thank you to everyone who joined in with our first successful community walk. Mrs Samuels, with the sup-
port of other Y5 parents managed and organised the routes and publicised it so that as many of you as possible could
join in. Remember the next planned event is on the 18th October and children can wear their funky trainers to
school!
