range of advantages. The

Uponor minitec foil element for

the laying of the PE-Xa pipes

measures 9.9 x 1.1 mm and

can be installed on any existing

Uponor Siccus - System components and accessories

Uponor MLCP white in coils

Diffusion-tight multi-layer composite pipe (PE-RT - adhesive -

longitudinally welded aluminium - adhesive - PE-RT) for distribution

conduits, rising mains and connection lines for plumbing, radiator

connection and fancoil connection. Fire classification E according to DIN

EN 13501-1. Pipe end caps as hygienic seal according EN 806.

Resistance of temperature:

Tap water: The maximum permanent operating temperature exists between

0°C and 70°C at a maximum permanent operating pressure of 10 bars. The

short-term malfunction temperature is 95°C of a maximum of 100 hours in

the operating lifetime.

Heating: The maximum permanent operating temperature is 80°C at

a maximum permanent operating pressure of 10 bars. The short-term

malfunction temperature is 95°C of a maximum of 150 hours in the

operating time per year.

The Uponor Tecto pipe posi-

tioning panel has been spe-

cially developed for the instal-

lation of underfl oor heating/

cooling systems in residential

and non-residential buildings.

The panels are installed in the

fl oor below the cement or

anhydrite screed load distribution layer. Uponor Tecto panels are

available in two diff erent thicknesses (ND 30-2 and ND 11),

catering for various fl oor constructions and load-bearing require-

ments.

Uponor MLCP white in coils

Diffusion-tight multi-layer composite pipe (PE-RT - adhesive -

longitudinally welded aluminium - adhesive - PE-RT) for distribution

conduits, rising mains and connection lines for plumbing, radiator

connection and fancoil connection. Fire classification E according to DIN

EN 13501-1. Pipe end caps as hygienic seal according EN 806.

Resistance of temperature:

Tap water: The maximum permanent operating temperature exists between

0°C and 70°C at a maximum permanent operating pressure of 10 bars. The

short-term malfunction temperature is 95°C of a maximum of 100 hours in

the operating lifetime.

Heating: The maximum permanent operating temperature is 80°C at

a maximum permanent operating pressure of 10 bars. The short-term

malfunction temperature is 95°C of a maximum of 150 hours in the

operating time per year.

Uponor self attaching system

With its self attaching system,

Uponor off ers installers an

innovating pipe laying system

for underfl oor heating pipes. At

the factory, hook fasting tape

is wound around the oxygen-

tight pipes conforming to

DIN 4726. The system insulat-

ing panel, which can also be used as a stapler panel, is completely

covered with the matching laminated loop foil. The pipe can be

reeled off and laid on the fl oor as usual and only needs to be

pressed at the correct position against the laminated insulating

panel. The hooks on the tape around the pipe catch the loops on

the foil and thus secure the pipe to the surface. Both the hook

take and the loop foil are designed to guarantee maximum fi xture.

The Uponor installation panel

has been specially developed

for the installation of under-

fl oor heating/cooling systems

load distribution layer. Uponor installation panels are available in

two diff erent thicknesses with insulation (ND30-2) and without

Uponor individual radio room temperature control with Dynamic Energy Management (DEM)

The Uponor individual radio room

temperature control system with

DEM has been developed on the

basis of the existing individual radio

room temperature control. Apart

from the colour of the controller

(previously white, now grey), there

are many more diff erences between

the two versions. The advanced sys-

tem comes with a range of features

that make installation even easier.

Apart from the great energy effi -

ciency during operation, fast instal-

lation and user-friendly operation

that are standard features of all

Uponor systems, the new individual

room temperature control makes

heating and cooling even more

comfortable.

The automatic balancing function

does away with time-consuming

manual hydraulic balancing. In most

cases, there is no need for recalcu-

lation of the valve settings, which is

normally required aft er a change of

the room layout or the fl oor cover-

ing. The heat distribution in the

room is evaluated by a bespoke

soft ware solution. The relevant val-

ues are stored and the system is

automatically balanced at regular

intervals. This guarantees optimum

energy distribution!

The comfort setting prevents that

heating surfaces become too cool

when the room is heated with an

alternative source (e.g. open fi re-

place). The supply diagnosis moni-

tors the heat performance in all

rooms and signals any insuffi cient

or excess supply to the I-76 inter-

face. The room bypass function is

particularly suitable for systems

with specifi c minimum fl ow require-

ments. Incorrectly assigned thermo-

stats are automatically detected and

rectifi ed by the room check func-

tion.

Uponor 24 V individual room climate control system

Wired individual room tempera-

ture control system with wide

range of components.

The Uponor 24 V individual room

climate control system consists of

electronic components that have

been specially devised for combina-

tion with each other (3 thermostat

models, 2 controllers and optional

timer). As soon as a thermostat

detects that heating or cooling in a

room must be adjusted, the con-

troller operates the 24 V thermo

drives accordingly. The three ther-

mostat models available for this

system can be freely combined with

each other and are connected to

the controllers through non-polari-

ty 2-core cables (6-12 V) that can-

not be confused.

Choose between two controller

types

Depending on the size of the heat-

ing system and the specifi c require-

ments, you can install a 6-channel

(C-33) or 12-channel (C-35) con-

troller.

The 12-channel controller caters for

maximum 12 thermostats and 14

thermal actuators plus an optional

timer I-36. The 12-channel C-35

controller also provides the option to

switch over between heating and

cooling.

The device is wired in such a way that

several thermal actuators can be com-

bined with a single thermostat with-

out the need for wired bridges. Ther-

mostats and thermal actuators are

connected to the controller through

easy-to-use plug-in wiring terminals.

Functional description

The wireless room temperature sensor measures the

operative room temperature. Through the wireless con-

troller, the thermal actuators and manifold valves, it

controls the heat release from the respective room heat-

Functional description

Depending on the outdoor and room temperature, the

C-46 heating/cooling controller switches the switch-

over valve installed by the operator from the heating to

the cooling source. The H/C switching module switches

the C55/C56 wireless controller from heating to cooling

mode, as the manifold valves must be opened as the

room temperature increases (reverse operation of ther-

mal actuators). For cooling, the relative air humidity in

the room must also be measured, in addition to the

room temperature. This is done through the humidity

sensor H-56. It is important to prevent that the temper-

condensation on cold system components. The C-46

heating/cooling controller regulates the cooling water

supply temperature through the control valve to keep it

above the dew point temperature. This ensures that the

system components from the control valve downwards

are protected against damage from condensation that

tends to occur when the actual temperature drops

below the dew point. Depending on the cooling water

temperature, the system components from the chiller to

the control valve must be insulated with diff usion-tight

material.

PE-Xa pipe with an oxygen diffusion barrier manufactured from peroxide

cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa) using the Engel method complying

with e.g. prENISO 15875 “Plastics piping systems for hot and cold water

installations - Cross-linked polyethylene” with an oxygen diffusion barrier

of EVOH (ethyl vinyl alcohol). Uponor pipes fulfil the requirements for

oxygen diffusion resistance as per DIN 4726. Malfunction temperature

95°C. Design pressure 8,8 bar (at 70°C).

Uponor radiant heating system

fl oors are a synthesis of woo-

den swing fl oors with elastic

layer made of PVC or linoleum.

The heating registers runs in

pipe holders (Patent Uponor)

directly under the blind fl oor.

The pipes are to be connected to distribute- /collector pipes.

Uponor sports fl oor heating systems are quick installed. First due

to the fl exible and at the same time robust PE-Xa pipe material.

Secondly due to the patented mounting principle for swing fl oor

constructions.

Pipes manufactured from peroxide cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa) using

the Engel method, complying with e.g. EN ISO 15875 ”Plastics piping

systems for hot and cold water installations - Cross-linked polyethylene”.

Includes an ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) oxygen barrier layer, complying

with DIN 4726, to prevent corrosion of system components. This barrier

has been specially developed to work together with Uponor Q&E fitting

technology. Classification of service conditions (including typical field of

application): Application class 4 - Underfloor heating and low temperature

radiators, malfunction temperature 95 °C. Design pressure 6 bar.

Uponor room temperature controller H/C

Concealed device, protects cooling surface from condensation. The TR

2/3 (concealed device) can both to control one valve (heating or cooling)

and also be switched over internally to control thus 2 valves (heating

and cooling). With an option of external setpoint remove access will it

be introduced in two-line (heating and cooling) and three-line systems

(heating and cooling). The actual operation status (heating/cooling/

dew point warning) will be show on device by means of light diods. For

simplification of wiring and installation of room temperature are switch

boxes shall be provided.

Uponor dew point sensor

For plastered ceilings or walls / pipe installation, detects a potential

condensation arising on the pipe or in the immediate vicinity by changing

its electrical resistance. This change of resistance in the sensor is detected

by room thermostat TR 2/3, which closes control valve and effectively

protects the cooling surface from condense damage.

The dew point sensor TF 3 PR is designed for installation in plastered

ceilings (P) and for cold-water pipe conduits (R).

PE-Xa pipe with an oxygen diffusion barrier manufactured from peroxide

cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa) using the Engel method complying

with e.g. prENISO 15875 “Plastics piping systems for hot and cold water

installations - Cross-linked polyethylene” with an oxygen diffusion barrier

of EVOH (ethyl vinyl alcohol). Uponor pipes fulfil the requirements for

oxygen diffusion resistance as per DIN 4726. Malfunction temperature

95°C. Design pressure 8,8 bar (at 70°C).
