New General Education Rule 6A-6.0331 has

made the seamless Problem Solving and Response to Intervention (RtI) process a necessity in daily decisions across the curriculum. Instructional decisions must follow the Problem Solving process in order to comply with the new rule. Data must drive instructional decisions. The new plan reflects this verbiage. Professional development will reflect the adjustments in the Plan, as will consistent monitoring.

The new Florida Assessments in Reading (Developed by FLDOE) will be used district-wide next year (K-12). This is an assessment that reflects the screening and progress monitoring necessary to follow the procedures described above. Verbiage in the new plan includes this assessment and the decisions that will be made based on the data gleaned from the administrations. This assessment replaces DIBELS, FORF and the GRADE as a fluency measure and diagnostic assessment. It is FREE. Professional development in the administration of the assessment as well as the interpretation of the data is underway and will continue into next school year.
