These lightweight blocks are made from genuine new Cosworth/Ford castings and evenincorporate the Ford logo.

They come complete with liners fitted and bored to a finished size of 90mm. Two bolt type steelmain caps are also fitted. This block is almost the same as the Cosworth BDG block released lastyear but it has steel liners instead of the expensive Nicosil versions, bringing down the overallprice substantially.

Race Banjo Rear Axle for MGB

Early MGB models (up to ‘65) used a ‘banjo’ type rear axle, whereas later examples had a‘Salisbury’ type axle.

Whilst the Banjo axle was adequate for road use, when subjected to the rigours of racing brokenhalf shafts were common. The later Salisbury axle was much tougher, having been designed for the6 cylinder MGC , and later 5 bearing MGB's and also the MGB-V8.

Cambridge Motorsport Parts can now offer a race banjo axle casing for early MGB models thatincorporates the later half shafts, back plates and brake drums making it a direct fit on early MGBs,instantly upgrading the half shafts and allowing the axle to be used in competition without the fear ofhalf shafts breaking. This also benefits from the better oil seal arrangement on the later axles.

You’ve probably noticed how yourengine runs better on a cool eveningthat it does on a hot day. That’s becausethe air in the intake charge is cooler anddenser and introduces more oxygen intothe engine for a better and morecomplete burn. This in turn makes theperformance livelier and increaseshorsepower.

Traditionally tuners used a cold airintake to draw air from outside the warmengine bay... now DEI has come up witha new way to improve on this by usingliquid carbon dioxide to physically coolthe intake down as well.

A patented aerodynamic bulb containing a cryogenic chamber is mounted in a short metal airtube. This is connected to the air intake pipe using the silicone coupler provided and the sys-tem’s braided hoses are connected to a CryO² liquid carbon dioxide system. The extreme coolingproperties of liquid CO² in the bulb reduces the surrounding air intake temperature up to 50°F

(10°C).

By greatly lowering the intake charge temperature the system will improved the performance ofany street or race vehicle.

The Vauxhall Nova and earlyCorsa may be getting a little longin the tooth but they do offer agreat way to have some fun ontrackdays without spending toomuch money.

Suspension masters, GAZ, nowhave a trackday/race package tomake these little cars handle

even better and more predictably on the circuit.

GAZ GHA coilover struts provide ride height adjustability from -25mm to -55mm. The heightadjusters have a coarse acme form thread for ease of adjustment and the damper units are zincplated to ensure they remain in good order even after considerable service.

These camber adjuster plates are designed for racing and trackday purposes where On the trackmore negative camber is desirable, so camber adjuster plates are included to allow the camberangle to be altered. In order to obtain the maximum adjustment of the camber adjuster plates thecoilover units are shorter than the standard Nova/Corsa specification.

The plates are made from anodised aluminium billet and come with a top bearing incorporated intothe centre.

This set up will give you superb control on the track but it should be noted that it would be tooharsh and noisy for general road use.

GAZ GP Dampersfor Reliant Ant

We are frequently telling you thatGAZ quite often make dampers toorder for classic cars - some quiteold, rare or obscure, but this onemust be one of the most obscure.

They were recently asked to makeadjustable dampers for a ReliantAnt. If you are struggling to recall

what that is, it’s a glass-fibre cabbed three wheeled truck that Reliant put out in the mid Seventieswhen the previous fuel crisis was at its height.

This strange contraption would look more at home on the streets on Mumbai, but with fuel costs asthey are, perhaps it might see a new lease of life - and if it does GAZ can provide adjustabledampers for it!

Like all GAZ GP dampers they are suitable for the road, or track and classic racing use - if youhappen to be that crazy. More realistically they can be adjusted for when the truck is empty or fullyladen.

They also feature height adjustable spring platforms so that the centre of gravity can be lowered toimprove stability, or returned to standard for an original look at classic shows. GAZ dampers alsofeature a zinc plated body to protect the dampers so they’ll keep their concourse looks and keepworking well for long into the future.

As usual the dampers units are individually tested before leavingthe factory and are covered by a 2 year warranty.

Mini Spares are pleased to announce that they now have stocks of theBrake Fluid Reservoir Extension Sleeve again after a period of severalyears when it has been unavailable. This valuable accessory screwsonto the ‘tin can’ reservoir in place of the cap, effectively increasingfluid capacity by about 20%.

With the demise of the tall reservoir "S"master cylinder, this is the only way toregain that safety margin of a little morefluid! It is also a massive asset whenbleeding the brakes, minimising the need forrepeated topping up and monitoring levels.

Most classic Minis only have a small reservoir for brake fluid. This "Special Tuning" designedpiece is easy to install and provides a little added safety margin and peace of mind. Not onlydoes it add some fluid to the reservoir, but the see-thru design allows for visual inspection ofthe level with out removing the cap!

Installation is as simple as unscrewing the stock cap, screwing the extension on, topping upthe fluid, and replacing the cap. It takes longer to describe than actually do.

High Capacity Water Pumpfor classic MinisMini Spares High Capacity Water Pumpswere designed for overseas use whereit’s warmer than in the UK.

These higher capacity water pump movemore coolant than the stock ones and areof better quality.

They have a much larger impeller thatsticks into the block slightly more than theusual 1/2". The impeller in thesealuminium bodied pumps is long lastingcast iron, not stamped steel as in manyaftermarket pumps.

This water pump will fit all 1275cc blocksand most 998/1098 from 1969 on. Withsome work on block and impeller it canalso be made to fit a small bore block,(but will not fit Twin Point Engines).

The use of a high capacity water pumphelps to reduce cavitation in the water jacket, particularly at high RPM, as well as circulatinga greater volume of coolant. Further reduction of cavitation can be achieved by using a largediameter water pump pulley (Mini Spares - CAM6408) as originally fitted to the Cooper Sand reintroduced on the A-Plus engines.
