AmD Stainless Steel Exhaust for Lotus Cortina(or any other classic)

AmD Tuning aren’t usually associated with classic cars but they do have an excellent custom exhaustworkshop where they can make bespoke exhausts for cars that have been modified or where originals aredifficult to find.

Such was the case with the Lotus Cortina that arrived there recently. The old mild steel exhaust had rotted outand the owner wanted a durable T304 stainless steel replacement. AmD were happy to oblige.

AmD produced a custom two box exhaust system with mandrel bends using 2" T304 stainless steel pipe work.

Not only should the new exhaust last for many years it should also flow better and therefore improveperformance.

Performance Exhaust and Remap forVauxhall Astra Mk6 VXR

AmD and their tuning partners Milltek have both been working on a range of tuning package for the latest Mk6Vauxhall Astra VXR.

Milltek have developed a 76mm mandrel-bent stainless steel performance exhaust system that includes a‘Euro 5’ spec 200-cell sports catalyst as part of the standard specification. The exhaust/Sports-CAT maintainsfull OBD compliance, so there are no annoying false warning lights on the dash – and there’s an extra 10bhpwith increased torque. The turbo also spools up some 200rpm quicker with this system. These improvementsmade this system an ideal base for AmD to work their magic on.

AmD Tuning’s software upgrade works in harmony with the exhaust upgrade making the power and torquegains increase dramatically over those gained by fitting the exhaust alone.

Even though the new height and damper rate adjustable strutisn’t permitted in this race series yet it is available for sale forroad, rally and trackday use.

As its name implies this damper differs from other GAZdampers in that it has a single tube construction as opposed tothe usual twin tubes.

A monotube damper has a larger piston and working areathan a twin tube damper of equivalent external size. Amonotube damper will also respond more quickly, be lessprone to aeration and be less likely to fade under severe use.

A monotube damper will also react more quickly to aggressivemovement with the sudden increase in internal gas pressureproviding additional damping force.

M-Style ICI Rear Lamp Upgrade for early BMW E92 and E93

When the original BMW E92 and E93 were given a facelift the rear lamps were changed to ICItypes

Now M-Style can offer an upgrade kit to convert the early models to ICI rear lights.

The kit includes a pair of complete rear lamp units and a wiring adaptor.

Because the E92/93 models use a Canbus wiring system the lamps will need to be coded to thecar after fitting to enable the vehicle’s control unit to recognise them.

Viper Performance were puzzled by that very question when they moved into their new premisesrecently. Eventually they found a talented British designer who could produce this type of furnitureand now you can buy sofas and coffee tables just like these directly from Viper.

Viper’s own office furniture features an Alfa 157 seat and an Alfa Romeo V6 block but any similarparts could be used. The seat has been removed from the car, totally reconditioned, repaired andre-stained in a distinctive red. A special "suspension" frame has been built by using mandrel bentsteel tube and powder coated in matt black. (other colours available).An MDF frame was constructed to finish off the rear of the seat, moulded and cut to suit the seat'soriginal shape. Again this can be supplied in any colour required.

The coffee table’s engine was removed, bead blasted, cleaned, prepared, primed and painted to amatt silver finish to replicate the look of OEM stock aluminium engines. Rubber feet were fixed tothe bottom, Thick glass top was fixed onto engine top with removable bonnet pins !
