Our campaign on Access to Healthcare is swily approaching its end with the closing meeng planned for 6th of December in the European Parliament, Brussels! Please save the date. In the meanme, read the interview of MEP Sirpa Piekäinen on why she decided to champion the campaign area on sustainable investment in healthcare systems. #Access2030 Earlier this year, we launched the EPF Breakfast Briefings, video podcasts on current policy topics and useful informaon for the capacity building of paent organisaons. Open to EPF Members only, the live sessions are then made available via our YouTube channel, as on demand podcasts. See here a small recap of the first episodes and subscribe to our channel for more updates! As always, EPF representaves have been very busy aending various meengs recently. Two were parcularly interesng as they will be a stepping stone towards future EPF policy iniaves: a upcoming statement on nutrion and its role in diseases management; and the new iniave of the OECD on paent-reported outcomes and experiences, fostering a paent-centred culture for health systems performance assessment. Some news to share as well on the project porolio: me to end the PRO-STEP tender project with a final conference in Brussels on the 23rd and 24th of October; while CHRODIS Plus gets under way pursuing the acvies undertaken by its predecessor CHRODIS. The EPF Capacity Building Programme is going from strength to strength, with recent training sessions in Bulgaria where parcipants receive tailored informaon on how to set up coherent, transparent and sustainable fundraising plans. Endorsed this year as a new member of EPF, the Naonal Coalion of Disabled People of Greece takes on our 5 quesons-interview, sharing their priories and challenges as paent organisaon. This month our Blog hosts the beauful story of Inge Vandelannoote, an IBD paent, on how valuable the relaonship between paents and nurses can and should be. Finally, some news regarding the EPF Youth Group, with Andreas Christodoulou (EPF Youth Group and cancer survivor) sharing his experience on aending the Young Cancer Europe congress; and some updates on the group itself: happy to welcome two new members and to gather soon for their autumn annual meeng in Leuven, Belgium! EPF is currently developing a Posi�onStatement on informa�on to pa�ents onfood and nutri�on. The document will buildon our previous work on the area ofnutri�on and will be a stepping-stonetowards a closer focus in 2018.

For several years, EPF has been calling forpa�ent-centredness to be adopted as a keyaspect of healthcare quality measurementsand for appropriate indicators to bedeveloped. For this reason, we weredelighted to see the launch of the OECDPaRIS Ini�a�ve in January 2017, which doesjust that.

PRO-STEP FINAL CONFERENCE –SHARING RESULTS ON SELF-MANAGEMENT IN PATIENTS WITHCHRONIC CONDITIONS

KICK OFF MEETING OF THECHRODIS PLUS JOINT ACTION: IT'STIME TO IMPLEMENT

The final conference of the EU-funded PRO-STEP pilot project will take place in Brusselson 23 and 24 October 2017. Around 100delegates are expected to a�end the eventwhere the projects' preliminary outcomeswill be presented.

From 18 to 20 September 2017, partnersgathered in Vilnius for the official launch ofthe Joint Ac�on CHRODIS Plus, which will aimto implement the ini�a�ves iden�fied in theprevious CHRODIS Joint Ac�on.
