The gates open at 11 a.m. General parking is free, while preferred parking at the Clubhouse entrance is $3 and valet parking at The Clubhouse entrance is $5. Following the Nov. 29 program, Tampa Bay Downs will conduct Thoroughbred racing in December on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, as well as Sunday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 28. Tampa Bay Downs is open every day except Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) and Christmas (Dec. 25) for simulcast wagering, no-limits poker action in The Silks Poker Room and golf fun and instruction at The Downs Golf Practice Facility. “Buffet Breakfast at the Downs,” an annual gathering of horse lovers, handicappers, horsemen and jockeys, will be held from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 to coincide with Lambholm South Cotillion Festival Day, featuring the $100,000 Inaugural Stakes for 2-year-olds and the $100,000 Sandpiper Stakes for 2-year-old fillies. Mallett will be on hand to offer betting tips for the Dec. 6 card, including both stakes races. Breakfast attendees will also have the opportunity to watch that morning’s workouts, meet with owners and trainers and get autographs from jockeys when their morning schedules are completed.

Tampa Bay Downs unveils a holiday tradition all its own

with the introduction of the “10 Days of Festivus

Challenge,” an online handicapping contest offering a

$1,000 cash Grand Prize to the overall winner and total

prize money of $2,400.

In addition to a second overall prize of $300 and a

third overall prize of $100, players will compete for daily

prizes of $100.

Entry in the Festivus Challenge is free and all wagers

are mythical. The contest runs over the 10 days of live

Thoroughbred racing at Tampa Bay Downs from Dec.

3-21. Online registration begins Saturday, Nov. 15 at

www.festivuschallenge.com

The only requirements to enter are a desire to pit your

handicapping skills against other racing fans and a

craving for extra holiday cash.

“The ‘10 Days of Festivus Challenge’ will also serve as

a warm-up for the second annual ‘Live It Up Challenge’

handicapping contest, which begins Jan. 31 and was a

tremendous success during the 2013-2014 Tampa Bay

Downs meeting.

The holidays are right around the corner and I’m happy to announce that Tampa Bay Downs will be

partnering up with Friends of Joshua House again this season to help their foster kids & teens have an extra

special holiday! The “Giving Trees” will be put up throughout this month in the poker room and in

Legend’s Bar. Just like last year, each tree will have wish list tags personally made out by the kids. I would
