0121 675 2983 @LYNDONGREEN1 HTTP://LGJS.J2BLOGGY.COM 27/03/2015 Attendance News Attendance for last week was 96.88% (weeps). However the good news… 5th place - Class 3J - 98.28% 4th place - Class 5W - 98.33% 3rd place - Class 5J - 98.61% 2nd place - Classes 5S - 98.89% 1st place - Class 3C - 99.44% Class 3C, sadly they are out on a school trip today but we still gave them a huge round of applause. The Big Hoot Competition We are running a design competition to decorate our owl. The children will bring home an outline of the owl and all we ask is that they think about our school and Birmingham and come up with a design which represents either or both. The winner will get their design on to our owl. Good Luck everyone! By the time you read this we will have come to the end of another term in school. It only seems like two minutes since we returned after the Christmas holidays. So much has happened in such a short time and what’s more scary is that we are now planning for next year already. When we return after the Easter holiday we are on the ‘run to the sun,’ the final term of the year. What we can promise is that we have lots planned to make learning fun and enjoyable. The children have been brilliant this term, they truly deserve a rest for all their efforts. I want to thank all the staff for all their hardwork. We have a super team here at LGJS. Have a super break. Mr R. Teacher Training Day The staff return to school on Monday 13th April for a training day that consists of PATHS, e-safety and Makaton. The children will return on Tuesday 14th April. I look forward to seeing everyone after the break. Sporting News. It has been a fun packed week with a number of events. Firstly, I want to congratulate all our children that participated in cross country this year. The season has now come to a close but you all did a fabulous job in representing the school. Congratulations to Hannah Moloney and Jamie Parkes, ‘runner of the year’ Girls Football - Not a win, however they represented the school brilliantly in a 4-1 loss to Little Sutton. (I believe not so little) Boys Football - Another game, another win, 5-0 against Oldknow Academy. They continue to be undefeated in the league and still haven't conceded. Thank you to everyone involved. Residentials As we are coming to the end of the financial year, could I please ask you to clear any outstanding balances for residentials. Letters will soon be coming out for next years experiences and we need previous balances cleared before being accepted on future events. First week back. No FDS football or dodgeball on the first week back. All other clubs will be continuing as they are. Children that have participated in baking and sports club with Miss Mills, your sessions have now come to an end and letters will be sent out to those children who have put their names down on the waiting list.
