1 UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS Support for Students Who Have Experienced Harm during COVID Pandemic Students must adhere to all COVID-19 mandates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and public health ordinances, including quarantine orders or bans issued by the county or university. However, Student Conduct and Community Standards will not issue charges or sanctions to students who report harm they experience or harm done to others in their community (sexual violence, physical violence, hazing, etc.). Sexual Violence KU’s CARE (Campus Assistance Resource and Education) Coordinator Provides free and confidential services to all students impacted by gender based violence (rape, sexual assault, stalking and harassment), therapeutic support, advocacy, supportive measures, emotional support while filing reports, accessing medical care. (785)864-9255 [email protected] studenthealth.ku.edu/sexual-assault Medical/Physical Injuries Lawrence Memorial Hospital Provides confidential medical care. Also provides Sexual Assault Nurse Exams (SANE) 24/7. The responsibility of a SANE include collecting and documenting any forensic evidence. Survivors of sexual assault should be seen immediately (no greater than 120 hours).     Hazing Student Conduct and Community Standards Addresses incidents of non-academic misconduct on campus and educates students about the Code of Student Right and Responsibilities. Students may contact SCCS to report harm or violations of university policy. SCCS works with student organizations to develop hazing prevention strategies within the KU community.
