Other: In my research I found out that Lehigh is a ‘Partying School’. They have lots of party within the college and alcohol is drunk in large amount. The place where Lehigh is situated is bit isolated and insecure. Any other points to raise: The university is great but the only problem is the use of booze in the college area. The engineering program is very good.

Essays are such that you can talk about yourself in the small word limit. At least a few qualities you think make you different. Titles are not a necessity. I personally did not have any. When at first I was stranded, this is advice I got from one of the students there: "Make sure you know about the school, spend time on the website or in your viewbook to get a holistic view of the school, the events that take place that

Page 83: University Handbook.docx

seem unique/amazing, the resources, etc. The prominent alums that have come from Swarthmore etc...Talk about how any peculiar interests or unique interests you have / any unique perspectives you have can make Swarthmore more diverse, will enrich your own experience as you compliment your experiences and talents to your classmate's experiences/ talents."(I contacted the admissions and I think when they'd had enough of me, I was referred to a student Intern)Availability of scholarships and financial aid (please be as specific as possible e.g. number, specific scholarships to apply for, who is eligible for apply, needs blind financial aid etc.) and application processNumber of available scholarships not mentioned, but I believe the aim is to increase diversity ultimately._________________________________________________________

a good ‘request paper’ for your major and the Vassar administration will support, even if it involves studying in another country.Extra-curricular strengths: The College is not a very big competitor in athletics, but there are lots of sports teams like soccer, basketball, swimming. They have very good workout facilities on campus as well.According to Dan, quite a lot of students are not particularly interested in athletics and stay isolated from the sporty students, socially.International diversity: Very highly diversified. Most of the International students have come from United World Colleges.Other: Very good liberal arts college and famous for cultural studies, languages and biological sciences. A new science facility has been built and has been opened. Most of the International Students do some sort of study away programme. According to Dan, my interviewer, the worst thing about Vassar is the location in Poughkeepsie because it is not a very nice city especially if you like the countryside. And Poughkeepsie is pronounced ‘pea – keep – sea’ by the locals, so you should surprise the interview by saying it first. _________________________________________________________

Availability of scholarships and financial aid (please be as specific as possible e.g. number, specific scholarships to apply for, who is eligible to apply, needs blind financial aid etc.) and application processThey have good need-based financial aid scholarships, among the most generous in the USA.
