National Dance Education OrganizationThe National Honor Society for Dance Arts
State University of New York at Buffalo 2018 Graduate with Honors Application Form
What is NDEO? The National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) is a non-profit, membership
organization dedicated to advancing dance education centered in the arts. NDEO provides the dance artist, educator and administrator a network of resources and support, a base for advocacy and research, and access to professional development opportunities that focus on the importance of dance in the human experience. The NHSDA Collegiate Program is dance honor society for college students. It is designed to honor the accomplishments of outstanding undergraduate or graduate students studying dance as a dance major, minor, or elective. This honors the fact that many young professionals have varying interests and abilities in dance that cover a spectrum from the pursuit of dance for personal fulfillment and joy, through career preparation, to life-long learning. The NHSDA can be implemented in any postsecondary institution that supports accredited dance coursework though it may not be a dance degree granting institution. Note from the Chapter President SENIORS: Applications for membership, and recommendation letters will be due Friday, September 8th in order to take advantage of membership for the full year. We will also be looking for a secretary - the application for that position will also be due September 8th. Make sure to ask for a recommendation letter in advance! JUNIORS: Applications for membership, officer positions (for fall 2018), and recommendation letters will all be due at the beginning of spring semester 2018 (date TBD). They can apply for membership, but not an officer position on September 8th as well if they have enough points to qualify. If accepted in the fall, and interested in an officer position, they must apply for that position in the spring. We will also start thinking of times where we can meet (maybe every other week) to try and organize any events or fundraising we would like to do. Let me know if we have any other thoughts, ideas, or questions. Mari Perrella
