Universal PMML Plug-in for IBM PureData System for AnalyticsZementis and IBM deliver standards-based execution of predictive analytics for in-database scoring

Zementis® and IBM® PureData™ System for Analytics, powered by Netezza technology help companies easily deploy, execute and integrate scalable standards-based predictive analytics. The Zementis Universal PMML Plug-in™ (UPPI) for in-database execution of predictive analytics extends the in-database model building/scoring capabilities with IBM PureData System for Analytics by enabling the scoring of models developed using third-party statistical platforms. UPPI for IBM PureData System for Analytics fuses in-database scoring and data warehousing into a scalable, high-performance, massively parallel analytic platform that easily processes through petascale data volumes. UPPI takes full advantage of the high-performance data warehouse with its asymmetric massively parallel processing (AMPP) architecture for rapid execution of standards-based predictive analytics.

UPPI for IBM PureData System for Analytics enables analytic enterprises to realize significant business value from new business models and helps companies realize both top-line revenue growth and bottomline cost savings by enabling near real-time on-demand scoring of analytic models for operations systems and massively parallel batch oriented scoring to be used from a historical analysis perspective.

The Universal PMML Plug-in fully supports the Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML), the de-facto standard for data mining applications. PMML, developed by the Data Mining Group, provides a standard way for an application to define predictive analytic solutions so that they can be easily shared with any other application that supports PMML.

With PMML, the plug-in delivers a wide range of predictive analytics for high-performance scoring. It also implements the definition of a data dictionary, handles missing and invalid values, outlier treatment, as well as a myriad of functions for data pre- and post-processing: value mapping, discretization, normalization, scaling, logical and arithmetic operators, conditional logic, built-in functions, and business decisions and thresholds. Also, the plug-in incorporates a PMML converter, which extends its functionality to all versions of PMML. When an older version of PMML is presented, Universal PMML Plug-in automatically converts it into the latest version, PMML 4.1.
