RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED
From the Pastor’s Desk Beloved Community,
Jason and I would like to thank you so very much for the wedding shower you hosted for us. Words cannot express how much you mean to us and how your kindness has touched our hearts. We had a wonderful time celebrating with you, and we cannot wait to put up the tree next year – or maybe two trees! Your thoughtful advice - ranging from the sincere, “Be Kind! Be Loving! Be Consid-erate! Have Fun! Love Jesus!” to the hilarious (Jason thanks the person who gave me the meatloaf recipe) -will last even longer than the ornaments , and we are so very blessed to have such wonderful folks praying with and for us. We can’t wait to continue the celebration with you on the 22nd and beyond! Until then, we’ll see you Sunday!
With Overflowing Hearts,
(Artist Cheryl Cozad)
Pastor Desi & Jason Brumit
Do you know how big a cubit is? How many people were on the ark? What was the first animal sent out after the flood? How long they were on the ark? These are just a few of the things we are learning besides talking about covenants and promises in Sunday School. Please come and join us!
Mark February 9th on your calendar. The children will be singing in 2nd worship that day. We have choir time at 10:15-10:30 each Sunday in the choir room. All kids are invited to come sing. We also practice during children’s church time. Sherry McCurley, Children’s Director

Maybe you live like there is a Place for everything, and everything is in its Place. Well, Goodrich certainly has many Places for many things, maybe you’ll find one here! Our campaign is to raise funds, yes, but it is also to show you and as many people as we can about the breadth and depth of our service for Christ at Goodrich. Here are a few Places available for sponsorship as part of our Places in Service for Christ Campaign.
Sanctuary - A Place for worship - $10,000
This gorgeous Place has a stained glass depiction of communion at the front, with grapes, a chalice, and wheat. At the back is a stained glass cross and flame. This is where we hold Sunday services, Hanging of the Greens Advent service, Christmas Eve services, Blue Christmas service, Ash Wednesday service, Maundy Thursday service, Good Friday service, Easter, weddings, funerals, Vacation Bible School (VBS), Youth Force, concerts, and more.
And this Place has already received $5,250 in sponsorship!
Children’s Activity Room - A Place for fun - $2,000
This room is decorated like a circus, and it is where we conduct the messy parts of
Sunday school, Children’s Church, and VBS - the art and science projects! It also has
access to the outdoor playground.
Among Disciples Sunday School Room - A Place for fellowship - $3,000
The Among Disciples Sunday School Class welcomes all levels of adult learners. It is a small and cozy room with multiple couches. For Youth Force this was the bunk room for the Goodrich girls. This Place has already recieved $100 in sponsorship!
Youth Director’s Office - A Place for service - $1,000
The youth, adult sponsors, parents, and youth director use this room primarily for meetings and planning. Also kept in here are lesson plans, youth department history, books, and everything to keep the youth group going. We also have quick access to first aid supplies, art supplies, and a cute fish named Desi. Come by and meet her! This Place has also already received $100 in sponsorship!
Please prayerfully consider giving over and above your regular tithing to sponsor or co-sponsor one of these or any of the other Places of Goodrich. More can be explored on the website, www.goodrichmemorial.com/places, and you can find more about which Places have been sponsored and for how much also by walking around Goodrich itself! There are crowns outside each place with the “A Place for…” description and a number of points on the crown for every $500 of the sponsorship amount. A jewel will go on the crown for every $500 raised.
Remember, our total Campaign goal is $100,000. As of mid-January we have reached $12,080!! That’s fantastic!
