• All of us know Beijing will hold 2008 Olympic Games.It’s a great honour for chinese .But do you know the slogon and the mascots for 2008 Olympic Games? The slogan is “Humanism Olympic,Scientific Olympic,Green Olympic “ and there are five mascots , they are Beibei –the fish; Jingjing-the panda; Huanhuan-the olympic flame;Yingying-the antelope; Nini-the swallow.You see the first syllables from their two syllables form a line ‘ Beijing Huan Ying Ni ‘.It’s meaning in English is ‘Welcome to Beijing ‘,which express the blessing of chinese.

Development of the Olympic Development of the Olympic GamesGames

• The Olympic has two kinds – summer and winter Olympic ,and the Olympic flame and the Olympic flage have special meanings. The Olympic flame light during the whole contest which stands for never die out.The Olympic flag has a white backgroud and five connected rings which stands for the five continents of the world relatively.

• The Olympic Games has a long history .We can use a series of numbers to describe the development of the Olympic Games . The ancient Olympic Games began about the year 776BC in Greece ,after about the year 393AD the Olympic Games stopped for some reasons.The first modern Olympic Games happened in 1896.In2000,the 27th Olympic Games were held in Sedeny The chinese team got 28 medals .In 2008 , the 29th Olympic Games will be held in Beijing .

• The Olympic motto is ‘ swifter , highter , stronger ‘ It means that the every athlete should try to run fast , jump higher, and throw further .
