• This presentation covers the topic for week one of term two.

• The steps on shooting skills will also be discussed and outlined which you need to take note.

The shooting tips in a game of basket ball.
In the game of basket ball shooting is one of the important skills to be mastered as points are taken from successful shorts. To perform a very good short for basket, there are tips to be considered;
1. Keep your knees bent and relaxed.
2. Your fingers should be comfortably spread.
3. Your non shooting hand should be on the side of the ball.
4. Sight the basket
5. The foot and shoulder of the shooting side of your body should be forward and aiming towards the target.
6. Thrust from your legs
7. Snap your wrist on release of the ball and follow through-off the finger tips

Revision
How many player from each team may be on the court at once?
Give the umpires decision in each of the following situation.
- A player receives the ball while his/her right foot is on the floor, then takes a short step with the left foot and a step with the right foot, before dribbling or pass?
- Player A is holding the ball. Player B knocks it out of his/her hands to go out of bound. Who should be given the throw-in
- Player number 4 pushes his/her opponent and leads to take a pass.
- Player number 4 fakes a shot. His/her guard goes up to block it but, in doing so jumps and lands on the player number 4.

Touch rugby- equipment and number of players
The ball must conform to IRB Laws of the Game Law 2.
This will normally be a size 4. Match organisers sometimes decide to use balls of up to size 5.Smaller sizes may be used for age grade and developmental purposes.
Each team must have no more than six players on the playing area. Matchorganisers may vary the maximum numbers appropriate to the match, tournament or size ofthe playing area.
more than the permitted numbers- At any time before or during a match a team captain may make an objection to the refereeabout the number of players in the opponent’s team. As soon as the referee knows that ateam has too many players, the referee must order the captain of that team to reduce thenumber appropriately. The score at the time of the objection remains unaltered.
- Match organisers may decide on the maximum number of males on the playing area inmixed gender matches.
