What is skip
counting?
• In Skip Counting, a person can count by only naming every other number:
• For example: In skip counting by twos, a person can count to 10 by only naming every other number: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.
• We skip count to count numbers or items faster.
PREPARED BY FMANAPE 7
Skip counting helps us count in equal groups to reach a number, like counting ten groups of two to get to 20.
To learn your multiplication tables you can skip count. For example: When skip counting by 5 , you are actually learning the 5 timetable!
