1. Distribution of fertilizer Subsidy of 40% on the cost of fertilizer is given to the SC/ST and marginal farmers in kind. The scheme is executed by District Panchayat.

2. Distribution of improved seeds 50% of the cost is given in kind to SC/ST and small and marginal farmers. The scheme is executed by District Panchayat.

3. Distribution of Horticulture plants Fruit grafts are provided to the farmers on 50% loan and 50% subsidy limited to ` 500/-.

4. Distribution of pesticides and Plant protection equipment .

Assistance of ` 750/- for purchase of plant protection equipment in the form of spray pumps and assistance of ` 200/- for purchase of pesticides is given to the farmers on 50% loan and 50% subsidy basis.

5. Distribution of Agriculture Implements 50% of the cost is given in kind to SC/ST and small and marginal farmers limited to ` 500/-.

6. Farmers Training More than 600 Farmers are trained every year. Training on organic farming, IPM is also provided at FTC.

7. Financial incentive for commercial crop. 100%

8. Subsidy for purchase of diesel engine pump-set and PVC pipes

Subsidy for purchase of Diesel engine pumpset and PVC pipes is given to the farmers. Loan is provided through banks and 50% subsidy is given by the department limited to NABARD cost.

ESTABLISHMENT OF SMALL SCALE DAIRY UNITS

• 39 Small Scale Dairy Unit established which is exclusively run by women beneficiaries till date and 25 Small Scale

Dairy Unit will be established during current financial year 2015-16 .

• Pattern of assistance- @35% (40 % in case of beneficiaries of SC or ST or BPL or SMF) of the project outlay- (Capital

Cost of ` 5.00 Lakhs), subject to a ceiling of ` 1.75 lakhs (` 2.00 lakhs for SC or ST or BPL or SMF) for unit of 10

milch cows.

• One Hundred bags of cattle feed and mineral mixture provided @ 50% subsidy of the actual purchase cost to each

beneficiary.

INTEGRATED DAIRY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (IDDP)

• 22 Village Level Milk Cooperative Societies has been organized and run exclusively by 710 women

beneficiaries and 416 women beneficiaries will be covered during current financial year 2015-16.

• U.T. Administration has constructed three Dudh Ghar at Sili, Galonda and Randha.

• Subsidy will be @ 50% of actual purchase cost of milch cow (` 48000/-) limited to ` 24,000/- per

cow.

• Twenty bags of cattle feed and mineral mixture provided @ 50% subsidy on the actual purchase

cost to each beneficiary.

ESTABLISHMENT OF SMALL SCALE POULTRY UNIT (LAYER)

• Poultry Development activity will be taken up where Dairy Development is not feasible.

• Unit of fifty layer birds- Small Poultry Farm will be established with unit cost of ` 60,000/-

• Subsidy will be provided @ 50% of unit cost (total cost of purchase of pullets, poultry feed, poultry

equipment's and construction of poultry shed etc.) limited to ` 30,000/- per unit.

• Under the scheme 248 beneficiaries has been assisted and 333 beneficiaries to be covered during current

financial year 2015-16.

research and extension activities in the U.T.

Strengthening of Department of Agriculture- Post to be created

To boost up Horticulture activities in U.T., there is need of “Department of

Horticulture”.

Special wing to be establish in the Department of Agriculture for farmers’

welfare in the U.T.

In the era of modernization, liberalization and globalization, there should be a

separate IT wing in the Department of Agriculture.
