Scholarship Guidelines • You may apply for mul�ple scholarships but can only be awarded one. If you are in the

top-ranking posi�on for more than one scholarship, you will receive the scholarship with the higher dollar award.

• You must meet and maintain all of the criteria stated in the scholarship profile in order toapply.

• You may reapply each year for scholarships even if you were a previous recipient.• The term “credits” refers to those earned by the end of spring semester in the current

academic year or as stated in the criteria.• If you are awarded a scholarship, you must sign an acceptance leter agreeing to the terms

of the scholarship and write a thank you leter to the donor before funds will be released,and you will be invited to atend the scholarship awards banquet in the fall of the year ofyour scholarship award.

How to apply

Scholarships are available for application starting Saturday, February 1st, 2020.

Our scholarship process is fully online! We use the Award Spring Scholarship Tracking and Review System, which helps match students to scholarships based on answers to a questionnaire that is filled out as part of the online application process.

Purpose To encourage education for adults age 30 or older who have demonstrated aptitude and desire for higher education, career development, life enrichment, and/or self-sufficiency. In honor of Addie Williams who pursued her college degree later in life.

Purpose To encourage and support new entering students who are the first in their family to attend college. In honor of former Century College president Ron Anderson and his family.

Century College Rising Star Purpose To encourage and support students pursuing an education at Century College who have financial need. Amount Multiple @ $1,000 Criteria

Harold Johnson (Pine County)

Purpose To encourage students who are from Pine County and may have graduated from a high school in Pine County to attend Century College.

AAUW Northeast Metro Branch Nancy Jo Hendrickson Legacy

Purpose AAUW, (American Association of University Women) is an organization that has promoted higher education for women since 1881. The AAUW Northeast Metro Branch Nancy Jo Hendrickson Legacy Scholarship honors a member whose lifelong interest was in furthering education and opportunities for girls and women. To encourage a student transferring to a four-year institution upon completion of a two-year degree program at Century College.

AAUW St. Croix Valley Branch Purpose AAUW (American Associa�on of University Women) provides this scholarship to a student who is transferring to a four-year ins�tu�on upon comple�on of a two-year degree program at Century College. Amount 1 @ $1,000 Criteria

Pratt and Nordstrom Family Purpose Paul Pratt and Marguerite Olson Pratt were farmers and in the Red River Valley. They were enthusiastic lifelong learners. This scholarship was created by Charlotte Pratt Nordstrom, their daughter and dedicated counselor at Century College for more than 25 years. It demonstrates how, through a lifetime of service and saving, one couple’s remarkable generosity will continue to provide support and encouragement to future generations.

Larry Litecky Legacy Teaching

Purpose To encourage and support the educa�onal goals of aspiring teachers. Dr. Larry Litecky served as president of Century College from 2000-2011. Under his leadership the campus experienced dynamic growth and change. Gladys Dickey Teaching

Purpose To honor Gladys Dickey, a lifelong educator, by encouraging students to enter the field of educa�on. Gladys Dickey was born in Iowa in 1888 and began her lifelong career as an elementary school teacher in 1912. She loved children and children’s literature - her enthusiasm for the stories of early American history was contagious. She touched so many lives and enriched them all, not only of her pupils, but of her nephews and nieces, who hope that this scholarship will enable others to follow her example.

Dr. Carl Gerber Scholarship for Leadership and Service

Purpose Dr. Carl Gerber became president of Lakewood Community College in 1968 and completed his service in 1985.
