Psalms 107:28-30 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters[a] were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven.Luke 8:23-25and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were fi lling with water and were in danger. And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”

By defi nition, the meaning of unction is the act of anointing as part of a religious, ceremonial, or healing ritual, or an ointment or oil; salve. Additionally, it is defi ned as something that serves to soothe such as a balm. To the Christian “unction” is the soothe anointing of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which comfort and direct you. “Unction” comes from the Holy Spirit which is from within. But what does Jesus say about it? In John 14:26, Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the Comforter and from the Greek interpretation of this word it means, Parakletodef, or in simple language, intercessor, counselor, or advocate. Which is what the Holy Spirit does, He is a gentlemen, if you give him permission, He intercedes, counsel and advocates as well as comforts you through this life. In the scriptures, Jesus said, I will prayer that the Father God will send you a Comforter, who will lead and guide you through all circumstances; this is what Jesus said to his disciples which apply to us as modern day disciples.

Furthermore, In John 14:16, Jesus says our Paraklete, “the Holy Ghost” will abide with us forever, and He is our Comforter, in real terms, our friend. So we can be comforted no matter what you are confronted with in this life’s journey. When you have no family, you are comforted, no friends you are comforted, no hope, no chance, no future, you are comforted with the “Unction” of the Holy Spirit. You see, 1 John 3:8 says, for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” We can enter into God rest because we have the victory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ’s, death and resurrection. Saints we must realized that Jesus as already given us the victory, we just must receive that victorious power through the “Unction” of the Holy Spirit.

II Corinthians 2:14, says, “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ make manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, our comforter, we can walk in this victorious spirit. Therefore, receive the comforting spirit of the Holy Spirit in your life today which is one of the benefi ts of walking as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

creation and God’s rest thereafter. God’s people would celebrate holy days, and anniversaries of days in which God did something mighty on their behalf.

“And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.” (Leviticus 23:41)

Our celebrations and God fulfillments are an intimate part of us. They are a demonstration of our hearts, a manifestation of our affections, and a co-creator of our daily existence. Celebrations in the Bible always told a story and revolved around God. Why would we celebrate that which displeases God? Why would we have a festival and have a good time when what we are celebrating and the meaning and origin of that celebration are grievous to God? If we are celebrating while God is weeping, our celebration is rebellion against God, his kingdom, and his righteousness. We are rejoicing at the breaking of his heart. Therefore, we are to celebrate those things that please God.

Let’s be very diligent to only celebrate that which is of God, having absolutely nothing to do with that which does not come from him, realizing that only a little bit of compromise leads to destruction.

Therefore saints, Celebrate life,1. Spend Family time2. Take Trips3. Have Christian Parties4. Have Family Get Together5. Pamper yourself6. Dine out 7. Enjoy the Outdoors

Remember saints to celebrate our Lord and Saviour through your exhibition of his love which will allow you to achieve greatness in the sight of God.

Celebrating LifeThis life’s journey has taught me the essence of celebrating life and walking the fulfillment of God’s blessings. In this perspective, celebrating life simply means appreciating the small things in life and not taking anything or anyone for granted. Fulfillment means achieving all of the promises God have afforded me as an earthly kingdom citizen. As an earthly kingdom citizen you have God’s provision, assignment, authority as well as position in this life. In the following magazines we will explain all of these factors which are essential to your Christian walk.

These first three months of the year God has bless us tremendously, we just acquired our church building in Live Oaks, Florida, in the processing of structuring the church building in Ocala, Florida and we just recently finished our prayer conference and breakfast in the month of

To celebrate today is, ideally, to embrace the giving of thanks. To celebrate life is, hopefully, to embrace the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Bible is full of celebrations and fulfillments. God’s people would celebrate God’s Sabbaths, in honor of the completion of

Through the foundation established by her Godly parents and the ministry of deliverance learned in Miami, Florida the ministry of reconciliation was birth in her from the inside out.

LIVING LIFE TO THE FULNESS

The Seven Pillars of Health

1. Water-We typically need at least 2 quarts of filtered waters a day, or take your weight in pounds and divide it by 2. Drink that many ounces of water a day.

2. Sleep and Rest-Sleep is also vital for the immune sys-tem and for repair of different organs of our body. You need at least 8 hours of sleep each night.

3. Freedom from Stressful Beliefs, Perceptions, Attitudes and Reactions- you can be totally free from stress if you learn how to enter into the rest of God as according to Hebrew the 4th Chapter. By understanding this chapter, one can learn to perceive things through the eyes of faith, and one can also learn to control their reactions. As Dr. Ford says, a merry heart is the best medicine. Try 10 good “belly laughs a day, smile!

4. Process Living Foods Versus Dead Foods-Many people have toxic food reactions. In other words, what may be food for one person may be poison for another. Eat more living foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds, and less sugar, processed foods, fast foods, and man-made foods.5. Exercise-Exercise decreases the risk of heart disease, cancer, prevents and help control type 2 Diabetes, reduces blood pressure, raise good cholesterol, increase energy, reduces stress, improves sleep, improves digestion, improves one’s appearance, improves one’s self—image and prevents osteoporosis. Without exercise out body becomes stagnant like a stagnant pond. Remember our body is 2/3rd water. We recommend aerobic exercise such as brisk walking, cycling or swimming, for 20 minutes 3-4 days a week.

6. Detoxification-For cleansing the body, most doctors recommend a chloro-phyll drink that you can find your locate health food store. Also, periodic fasting, sweating through exercise and sauna also help.

7. Supplements-According to United States Agency on Health, our body needs a minimum of 13 essential vitamins, 8 B vitamins, 20 essential minerals, 8 essen-tial amino acids, 2 essential fatty acids and 5 co-factors on a daily basis. A good multivitamin is a solid foundation for any supplement program.

So let us celebrating life through good health. Be blessed in the Lord.

“Society has indoctrinated us to falsely believe that sex is the most important thing in a relationship between two people. That is a lie fostered by satan himself.”

In the bible, Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed thee in the womb, I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” There are several points that are wonderful and inspiring as a person understands what this verse says about our relationship with God and purpose in life. God tells Jeremiah that He knew him before he was formed within his mother’s womb. God is saying his spirit is in man and you are born for purpose. It is all left up to you to accept this call to purpose. God already knew Jeremiah’s strengths and weaknesses, why because God is the creator of all mankind. To have a sense of purpose means God has anointed as well as equipped you for your mission in life. For instance, God equipped Jeremiah on a specific assignment to the children of Israel to keep this nation in fellowship with Him. This purpose was given to Jeremiah before he was born, what an interesting truth. God had already set him aside for a special task which God would give Jeremiah years later as a young adult. What does this means to us? We are not a prophet like Jeremiah. But God knew each one of us before we were conceived in our mother’s womb and God created purpose in our life. We are not just human beings wandering on this life’s journey without any purpose. Also, God knows our strengths and weaknesses, our abilities and limitations. God knows all about us because He created us. God has also appointed us to become like Jesus Christ as we follow in his steps, “for whom he

foreknew God also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren,” (Romans 8:29). It is up to us as to whether we will accept God’s appointment for purpose in our life or not, just as it was up to Jeremiah. Excuses will not do; “Then I said, Alas, Lord God, Behold, I do not know how to speak I am a youth,” (Jeremiah 1:6). I suppose that Jeremiah was staggering at the responsibility of God’s appointment in his life. Jeremiah obviously took it seriously, but he was dealing with the God who knew him better than he knew himself.

In other words, Jeremiah was saying that he was not sure that he could do the job. But God has already answered that objection, God knew what Jeremiah could do, and had known from even before Jeremiah had been born! “But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, I am a youth but everywhere I send you, you shall go, and all that I command you, you shall speak,” (Jeremiah 1:7).

The Plain Truth

Living the Single Life For God

by Santosha Dennison

The Plain Truth

Jeremiah contended that he was only a youth. That may well have been, but God is eternal. To put it simply, Jeremiah’s duty was to obey God by accepting his purpose in life for Jeremiah was anointed by God.

The power of God’s words and not Jeremiah’s and the words to be delivered would not be the words of a youth, but of God. The Lord commanded that Jeremiah go where he would be sent and to speak that which the Lord would command him. Likewise as disciples today, we must never set aside God’s mission for us. To contend that we lack the ability to live as God commanded is to express doubt in our Creator’s wisdom. “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord,” (Jeremiah 1:8). Our sinful world has never welcomed those who would witness the truth, bowing to no worldly pressure. Jesus said to his disciples, “And you will be hated by all on account of My name, but it is the one who endures to the end who will be saved,” (Matthew 10:22). “Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, ‘Behold I have put my words in your mouth,” (Jeremiah 1:9).

When we witness and teach as well as live what the Bible says, then we do not need to be wondering if we are right or not. The bible says Jeremiah spoke by inspiration; the words came to him by God’s spirit. Today we have the completed scriptures as our guide containing the words written and spoken by those whom the Lord has “stretched out His Hand” and touched their mouths.

So understand that you have purpose in this life and live a fulfilled life you must allow the holy spirit to direct you.

More next time, see you in the next three months with part two.

The Love Game

Love is the greatest thing God gave us, next to eternal Life. In First Corinthians 13, the living Bible, says, “If I had gift of being able to speak in other languages without learning them, and could speak in every language there is in all of heaven and earth, but didn’t love others, I would only be making noise. If I had the gift of prophecy and knew all about what is going to happen in the future, knew everything about everything, but didn’t love others, what good would it do? Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, I would still be worth nothing at all without love.

If I gave everything I have to poor people, and if I were burned alive for preaching the Gospel but didn’t love others, it would be of no value whatever. Love is patient and kind,Never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him. All the special gifts and powers from God will someday come to an end, but love goes on forever. Someday prophecy, and speaking in unknown languages, and special knowledge-those gifts will disappear. Now we know so little, even with our special gifts, and the preaching of those most gifted is still so poor. But when we have been made perfect and complete, then the need for these inadequate special gifts will come to an end, and they will disappear. It’s like this; when I was a child I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does. But when I became a man (grew up) my thoughts grew far beyond those of my childhood and now I have put away the childish things. In the same way, we can see and understand only a little about God now, as if we were peering at his reflection in a poor mirror; but someday we are going to see him in his completeness, face to face. Now all that I know is hazy and blurred, but then I will see everything clearly, just as clearly as God sees into my heart right now. There are three things that remain, faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of theses is love.”

Therefore, you cannot hate any person on earth whether he is alive or dead because this will hinder your blessing from God. For 1 John 3:15 says, “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murder, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” You cannot like some people and dislike others, you must all people.

Jesus, said, “This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.” John 15:12

The Acid Test of a Born Again Christian

Sometimes people get into their legalistic interruption of the Bible and mislead the children of God. This is why, 2 timothy 2:15 say, “Study to shew thyself approved unto to God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the

word of truth. Exodus 20:8, says, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” God gave man a Sabbath day each week with the instructions he was to rest from all

unnecessary work, worship God and read the bible. “Six days shall thou labour, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God; in it thou

shalt not do any work, thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days

the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day wherefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hollowed it.” Exodus

20:9-11.To the Jew the Sabbath starts Friday evening and ends Saturday at 6:00 p.m. To the

Christian the Sabbath is Sunday. The day of the week is not important issue here. The fact that God asks us to rest and worship one day out of the seven days is an

act of obedience on our part. God does not need rest, nor does God ever sleep. But, He specifically set aside a day of rest and worship for us. We need it for our body,

our spirit, and to show obedience to God. God rested on the seventh day, to set an example for us to follow. “ Ye shall keep my Sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary; I

am the Lord.” Leviticus 19:30.

“For the Son of Man (Jesus) is Lord even of the Sabbath day.” Matthew 12:8 “And he said unto them, the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for Sabbath; therefore

the Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27-28 or Luke 6:5.

DEALING WITH BIBLICAL QUESTIONS:

UNDERSTANDING THE SABBATH

Sunday, for most people is a day to go to church and worship God. “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1. Even if Sunday is not the day you call the Sabbath, it does

not excuse you from worshipping God on one day each week. This is not a commandment to take lightly. The Sabbath was not given man to go

fishing, water skiing, or shopping. The Sabbath is a time of visiting with the family, resting, reading and meditating on the Word of God. It is okay to

cook lunch and do the dishes. Then you should rest and enjoy some peace and quiet. Mankind abuses the Sabbath and this displeases God.

What is so hard about observing the Sabbath in the way God asked you to? Think of the advantages of pleasing God. Go to church and learn about the wonderful blessings God has in store for you. Give your tired body and

mind a chance to rest.

Therefore, you can see that Jesus is Lord of all the days. We must walk in the spirit of obedience by observing at least one day of the week as the

Sabbath as God commanded.

The family of Soul Harvest Word, Worship and Praise Ministries, Inc., would like to give a shout out to Ms. Donna Samuels for a wonderful prayer breakfast on March 26, 2011. The theme was Through Prayer “Lock it In” which is a goal for all Christian seeking God’s facing in this Christian walk. We learned to continue in prayer constantly without ceasing; praying to our Heaven Father in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and using God’s Holy Word in prayer is the most powerful force we can use for ourselves and others. Through the prayer conference we learned from the diff erent ministers that the heart of prayer is the will of Heavenly Father. Part of that will is simply coming to him. God desires us, as His dear children to know Him. He desires our love, attention fellowship and fi nally our relationship which is developed through a faithful prayer life. Also, God desires a time of communion, an intimate time of personal exchange and involvement, and fi nally a release of His Will and manifest presence in the our lives through prayer.

As you pray for your needs and the needs of others, you are actually becoming a prayer warrior, an intercessor, just as Jesus was and is today for each of us. Jesus is constantly interceding for us to our Heavenly Father. It is written that Jesus was sent to destroy the works of the devil, 1 John 3:8. We have the power and authority through Jesus Christ and all we have to do is live in the promise of the word of God and to use His precious Name.

The most powerful weapons we have are the Name of Jesus Christ and God’s Holy Word against, satan and his foul wicked demons. No power of darkness can stand against the Word of God in the Name of Jesus Christ, and through the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Additionally, Prayer and faith are twins, for the bible says “Lord, increase our faith,” for faith is susceptible of increase. Paul’s tribute to the Thessalonians was that their faith grew exceedingly. Faith is increased by exercise, by being put into use. It is nourished by sore trials.

Prayer is absolutely dependent upon faith. It has no existence apart from it, and accomplishes nothing unless it is its inseparable companion. Faith makes prayer eff ectual, and in a certain important sense, must precede it. “For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”(Heb 11:6) Before prayer ever starts toward God; before its requests are made known—faith must have gone on ahead; must have asserted its belief in the existence of God; must have given its assent to the gracious truth that “God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek His face.” This is the primary step in praying. In this regard, while faith does not bring the blessing, yet it puts prayer in a position to ask for it, and leads to another step toward realization, by aiding the petitioner to believe that God is able and willing to bless.

Faith starts prayer to work—clears the way to the mercy-seat. It gives assurance, fi rst of all, that there is a mercy-seat, and that there the High Priest awaits the pray-ers and the prayers. Faith opens the way for prayer to approach God. But it does more. It accompanies prayer at every step she takes. It is her inseparable companion and when requests are made unto God, it is faith which turns the asking into obtaining. And faith follows prayer, since the spiritual life into which a believer is led by prayer, is a life of faith. The one prominent characteristic of the experience into which believers are brought through prayer, is not a life of works, but of faith. Faith makes prayer strong, and gives it patience to wait on God. Faith believes that God is a rewarder. No truth is more clearly revealed in the Scriptures than this, while none is more encouraging.

TestimonyRevelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

To God be the glory !! Giving honor to God who is the indeed the head of my life, the author and fi nisher of my faith. It is truly a miracle that I am alive today to give this testimony of the awesome power to God. I am so grateful to be alive, and I owe it all the my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I had been walking around for about two weeks with two blood clots in both of my lung lobes. The nature of such occurrence usually result in death, but my life was spared by God. During the two week period, I was feeling shortness of breath along with other related symptoms on and off . It was a Sunday morning while in service, my Pastor discerned that I was not feeling well, she then laid hands and prayed for my healing under the anointing, and rebuked the death angel and spoke the word of God over my life and declared that “ I shall live and not die to declare the works of the Lord” Psalm 118:17. I received the word and prayer and went home. The next day instead of feeling better, I felt worse, passing blood in my urine, which caused me to rush to the Doctor, but still standing on the word that was spoken over my life. I was given medication and was sent home under the assumption that I was passing a kidney stone.

The entire week I still feeling worse, I came to church again next Sunday, went to Live Oak church for evening service, while not feeling well, I pressed my way, believing God.

While at Live Oak, Overseer Dr. Cora Lee Palmer showed up unexpectedly in route from Atlanta to Ocala, in the midst of service. As soon as she entered the Holy Ghost started using her and she immediately prayed for me and again rebuked the death angel and declared that “ I shall live and not die to declare the works of the Lord”. I had no conversations with Overseer prior to that day, but I have been praying and standing on the word that my Pastor Dr. Estella Ford spoke over my life the Sunday prior to, which were the same exact words. I knew God used them both to pray over me and to speak into my life, be-cause the very next day, I got worst, I could not walk from my bed to my bathroom without feeling as if I was taking my last breath. I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance with my Doctor fearing death, after they discovered that I had a major embolism (blood clots) in both lungs for at least a week. The Doctors could not locate the origin of the blood clots after performing numerous tests. The entire hospital staff including Cardiologist, pulmonologist, and other Medical staff , were in awe of my speedy recovery and stability. I was released in good health with some medication. But just like God said, his word is fi nal and I am living today, because if the miracle working power of God. “ I shall live and not die to declare the works to the Lord” . God is good all the time and healing is the children’s bread.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God” (1 Corinthians 3:19).

During my Bible reading this week I began to refl ect on how little any one person knows and how limited one person’s wisdom is.Each of us have some insights, knowledge and wisdom, but the scope is usually fairly narrow and limited to our sphere of infl uence and knowledge-our world. We are good at what we do and have gained wisdom and foresight regarding our special interests and experience. But if we were suddenly placed in a new, unfamiliar position or found ourselves in a foreign city unable to speak the language, not knowing know how to even fi nd a bathroom, we would become aware of limi-tations. Our knowledge and experience would not help us. We need someone to help us. When I consider the six billion people in the world - each having wisdom about life in their world - I realized how little wisdom each of us as individuals possess. Compared to God – next to zero. Now then, think about the wisdom of God. He knows everything and is all wise. Even if we com-piled all the wisdom of everyone in the world and measured it against God’s wisdom, it would be almost nothing. Also, when we remember that everything we know and everything we have comes from God any-way, we cannot think ourselves wise, but only be humbled.Remember the “wise advice” Job’s friends gave him when he had lost everything? They thought they were very wise. Job himself questioned God about why this disaster happened to him. God was not impressed by any of them. (Read Job 38 to 41) What is wisdom? The Bible tells us, “The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 1:7). When we begin to recognize that our life is about God, not about us - that is the beginning of wisdom. Are you ready to put God fi rst in your life? How do we get more wisdom? One way is to read God’s Word and to learn from Him. “Nothing is perfect except your words. Oh, I how I think about them all day long. They make me wiser than my enemies, because they are my constant guide. They make me even wiser than the aged” (Psalms 119:96-100).Fear God. Know God by reading His word and obey the insights and directions He gives you.Next time you think you are wise in your eyes, remember, you may be knowledgeable and have some insights in your small world, but compared to total wisdom, you (and I) know little. And even if we added all of our combined wisdom, compared to God’s, it is nothing.

The Prayer ClosetDirect Prayer For Finances:Our Heavenly Father, as I come before you this day, I enter into your gates with thanksgiving, and in to your courts with praise. I give you all the thanksgiving, the glory, the honor, and praise, and I bless your holy name.

Our Heavenly Father, I come to You now in the Name of my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Holy Spirit I pray that You will quicken me to hear my Heavenly Father’s Voice and lead me in prayer. Heavenly Father I bow and worship before You; I come to You humility, in fear, and in trembling. I come to You in gratitude, in love and through the precious Blood of my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

Heavenly Father, Jesus said that we have not because we ask not, so I come before You in prayer, making my request known unto You, and asking for Your provision in supplying these needs be-fore me. In your revealed word, You said all our needs are supplied according to his Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

For You said that if evil men know how to give good gifts unto their children, then how much more will our heavenly Father give good gifts and needful things to His children who ask Him. So I ask through prayer, and by faith in Your unfailing Word for this petition.

I put my faith in you, because you are the only one that can save me from who I am, The only one who can complete me. There are certain areas in my life right now that need your blessings, and if I tried to fi x them myself, I would fall short every time. You are everything to me, and I trust your knowledge and timing. Right now I fi nd myself in a fi nancial struggle, and you are the only one that can help me triumph over this. I understand that you made a promise to me that you would provide, and I need your blessings now more than ever. I will seek your kingdom fi rst before my own needs, and trust you that you will pull me out of this fi nancial struggle.

Now, Father, I believe Your Word, and I am fully persuaded that what You have promised, You are also able to perform. And this is the confi dence that I have, “If I ask anything according to Your will, I know that You hear me; and since I know that you hear me, I know that I have the petitions that I have desired and asked of You. I believe it, and I receive the blessings of the Lord in my Life.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Our Heaven Father to do this according to St. John 14:13-14

and also, to give this to me according to St. John 16:23. Amen.

Dealing with your CreditIn the United States, there is a general agreement that this country has attained the highest stage of economic development in the history of the world, by this, becoming the richest nation in recorded history. Contradictory to this phenomenon, we have cre-ated a sub-community that is remarkably abject when it comes time to participating in this economic process. This process is a desire to increase an individual’s quality of life. Also, this sub-community suff ers from a new form of Slavery that is not per se based on religion, skin color, national origin or race, but on the fact that the business community has created certain standards used to grade a person’s ability to pay. Unfortunately, many major American corporations are lying off hundreds of thousands of employees, many who thought they had a job for life. During the past seven years (credit bureaus report information seven to ten years old and older sometimes); fi fty million Americans have suff ered income interruptions, job layoff s, or reduced incomes (lack of overtime, loss of second jobs, etc.). Accordingly, over two million Americans have had their homes foreclosed and over two million individuals have fi led for personal bankruptcy during the last seven years; one-half million divorces occurred during the last seven years and bills often go unpaid while attorneys fi ght over assets.

Therefore, many men as well as women come out of divorce court with badly blem-ished credit ratings. Many of these individuals do not know it is legal to dispute and modify negative credit reports, and necessary to do so! Ex-spouses, late payments, false information, and many other items can be successfully modifi ed or removed from credit reports, legally! Sadly enough, over 95% of Americans have never ordered a copy of their personal credit report, yet the government estimates over 87% of the remarks on credit reports are incorrect! Also, special attention must be paid to employment, pre-employment and transition, due to corporate downsizing. With more qualifi ed employees on the job market than ever before, both temporary and permanent place-ment agencies are requiring credit reports from applicants due to the variable salaries of the positions off ered. This lead to qualifi ed applicants sometimes being turned away due to the current state of their credit report. Financially troubled Americans cannot regain the status of “Credit Worthiness” due to the negative entries associated with their credit reports. As stated, several millions of “good” Americans have suff ered severe fi nancial setbacks due to circumstances beyond their control, divorce, layoff s, reces-sion, medical expenses and many other reasons have confronted these individuals. Therefore, under the present situation, the character of the person should be mea-sured before the business community labels that individual as a bad credit risk.

Statement of Faith Dealing With your CreditSeveral studies since the early 2008s have documented sloppy credit bureau practices that lead to mistakes on credit reports for which consumers pay the price. Consumers with serious errors in their credit reports can be denied credit, home loans, apartment rentals, auto insurance, or even medical coverage and the right to open a bank account or use a debit card. Consumers with serious errors in their reports who do obtain credit or a loan may have to pay higher interest rates because the mistakes falsely place them in the higher risk classifi cation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS DEALING WITH THE CREDIT SCORING SYSTEM

1. WHAT IF I’M TURNED DOWN FOR CREDIT?If you have been turned down for credit, the Equal Credit opportunity Act gives you the right to obtain the reasons why within 30 days. You are also entitled to a free copy of your credit report within 60 days. You can request the report from the three credit bureaus listed in the following pages.

2. WHAT IS A GOOD CREDIT SCORE?Since there is no one “score cutoff ” used by all lenders, it is hard to say what a good score is outside the context of a particular lending decision. Your lender may be able to give you guidance on their credit score criteria used for extending a given credit product.

3. WHY IS A GOOD CREDIT SCORE SO IMPORTANT?A good credit score creates opportunities for access to credit as well as helping you access credit more rapidly and with better terms. A good credit score also gives you access to a larger amount of credit, assuming you can prudently manage that credit and you have the capacity for repayment of the credit.

4. SHOULD I CLOSE OLD ACCOUNTS TO RAISE MY SCORE?Generally, this does not work. This action may lower a credit score. Late payments on old accounts will not disappear from an old account by closing the account. Long established accounts show a longer history of managing credit which is good for a credit score. Having available credit does not necessarily lower a credit score either.

5. WHAT OTHER CRITERIA DOES A LENDER CONSIDER IN ADDITION TO MY CREDIT SCORE?A lender considers other than just your credit score when deciding whether or not to extend credit. They consider the amount of debt you can handle given your income, your employment history, your credit history, as well as stay-ing within their institutional underwriting policies.

6. WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN CREDIT SCORE INQUIRIES ARE COUNTED AND MAY MEAN GREATER CREDIT RISK?Credit bureaus count the number of credit inquires related to your credit score. However, not all inquiries are in-cluded in that count. When you order a copy of your credit report it is not count. When a lender makes an inquiry to review your account or to pre-approve you for a credit off er, the inquiry is not counted. Inquiries make by employers are also not counted. If you are rating shopping for credit, each inquiry made can count on the score. A large number of inquiries mean greater risk. Six inquiries or more on a credit report can indicate an eighth times greater chance of bankruptcy compared to people with no inquiries. The score process does compensate for this by counting multiple inquiries in any 14 day period as one inquiry. Also, the score ignores all inquiries made within the period 30 days prior to scoring, if you fi nd a loan within 30 days, the inquiries from rates shopping should not aff ect your score.

7. IF I HAVE A GOOD CREDIT SCORE, WHAT CAN I DO TO KEEP IT THAT WAY?There are several things you can do and they include the following:A. Pay all your bills on time.B. If you have missed a bill payment, get the payment current and then keep it current.C. If you are having trouble paying all your bills contact your creditor or see a legitimate credit counselor.D. Know that paying off a collection agency account or closing an account that you were delinquent on will not remove the action from your credit report.E. Keep the balances owed on your credit cards and other lines of credit as low as possible.F. Pay off debt rather than move it around to other agencies. G. Do not open a number of new credit card accounts just t increase available of credit.

H. Do not close credit accounts as a short-term solution to increasing your credit score?

The statute of limitations varies from State to State and is based on a number of fac-tors. It seems simple enough. After a certain amount of time, depending on the State, debt can’t be collected on.

19. ONCE A DEBT HAS PASSED THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS IT IS CONSIDERED “TIME-BARRED” AND CANNOT LEGALLY BE COLLECTED ON.

10. CAN ANYONE GET A COPY OF MY REPORT?No, only people with a legitimate business need as recognized by the Federal Credit Reporting Act. For example, a company is allowed to get your report if you apply for credit, insurance, employment, or to rent an apartment.

If you win, the defendant will have to pay damages and reimburse you for attorney fees to the extent ordered by the court.

12. WHERE SHOULD I REPORT VIOLATION OF THE LAW?Although the Federal Trade Commission cannot act as your lawyer in private disputes, information about your experiences and concerns is vital to the enforcement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
