The former US president and first lady married on July 7, 1946, in their small home- town of Plains, Georgia. Jimmy Carter, who’s 91, and Rosalynn Carter, 88, told The Associated Press last month that mutual respect makes their long marriage possible. The Carters also said they give each other plenty of space while working on separate projects. The couple plans to spend the day at home in Plains, while the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta will mark the occasion with 70-cent admis- sion. Museum officials say they’ll deliver cards to the Carters. The Carters’ marriage is second in length to one other former first couple. George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush celebrated their 71st anniversary in January. — AP LONDON: Thousands of people have stripped naked and painted themselves in four shades of blue to celebrate the English city of Hull’s relationship with the sea. Hull City Council says some 3,200 peo- ple took part in the art installation, staged by New York artist Spencer Tunick yester- day. The work is called “Sea of Hull” and was commissioned by the Ferens Art Gallery to mark the city’s celebration next year as the UK City of Culture. Tunick says the resulting photos incorporate some of the city’s unique locations including the Scale Lane footbridge, a swing bridge often compared to a pin ball flipper that is a tourist attraction in the northern English city. Scribner has announced it will publish a collection of humorous essays from Ellie Kemper, who plays the title character in the Netflix comedy series “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and was formerly a cast member of NBC’s “The Office.” To be published in 2018, the book - not yet titled - will feature stories from Kemper’s life, from growing up in St. Louis to her career in Hollywood. Scribner describes Kemper’s writing style as “relatable, unexpected, insightful and hilarious.” Kemper has played the free-spirited Kimmy Schmidt for two seasons, with more to come. She portrayed reception- ist Erin Hannon on the last five seasons of “The Office” and co-starred in the 2011 hit film “Bridesmaids.”— AP CINCINNATI: A Brazilian street artist is honoring astronaut and Ohio native Neil Armstrong in a downtown Cincinnati mural. The nonprofit ArtWorks announced Friday that muralist Eduardo Kobra’s piece will feature Armstrong, the first per- son to walk on the moon. The announcement comes shortly before the 47th anniversary of the July 20, 1969, moon landing. Armstrong later taught aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati. The Wapakoneta (wah-puh-kuh-NET’- uh) native died in 2012 in Cincinnati at age 82. Kobra is known for his hyperrealism style and using colorful patterns. He plans to begin painting early next month. A dedication ceremony is planned several weeks later.
