Service Switching ModuleService Switching Module
Service switching module (SSM) of UMG8900 is consisted of 4 parts:
Main control frame
implements management and maintenance functions of the whole device and supports
service access and process simultaneously.
Service frame
provides service bearer process function.
Central switching frame
provides multi-frame cascading function when multi-frame cascading (≥3 frames).
Extended control frame
is configured when the device is in the maximum configuration. The extended frame
does not support access and process functions of bearer services, but provides
connection management and control function.

The embedded SG of UMG8900 supports the adaptation of
multiple types of CCS and CAS.
common channel signaling (CCS) as SS7, DSS1 and V5 are
adapted based on SIGTRAN protocol.
channel associated signaling (CAS) such as R2 and No.5
and R2 multi-national adaptation are supported.
UMG8900 achieves R2 adaptation mainly by means of H.248
extended packets.
