DESCRIPTION
TheSocietyforUltrastructuralPathologyhasundertakenthepresentationofanintensivethree-dayintroductorycourseindiagnosticelectronmicroscopy.Thisofferingistargetedprincipallytowardmeetingtheneedsofnon-physicianelectronmicroscopists,pathologistsintraining,andvariousothers(suchaspracticingpathologiststakingonelectronmicroscopyasanewresponsibility)thatmightbenefitfromabasicrefreshercourse.
VENUE
ThemeetingwillbeheldatthehistoricStanleyHotelinEstesPark,Colorado.Thehotel,locatedapproximatelyanhour’sdrivefromDenverInternationalAirport,iseasilyaccessiblebycommercialvanservice.
Enrollmentwillbelimitedto40participants.Structuredasaretreat,theparticipantswillbelivingtogetheraswellaslearningtogether.Lodging,meals,activitiesandmostotherexpenses(excludingtransportation)areincludedintheregistrationfee.
PROGRAM
Theprogram,directedbyEricWartchowandGaryMierau,willconsistofablendofformalpresentationsandinformaldiscussionsessions.Topicstobecoveredinclude:ManagementoftheEMService,RenalDisease,Liver/GIDisease,MetabolicStorageDisease,RespiratoryDisease,HematologicDisease,SkinDisease,NeuromuscularDiseaseandNeoplasticDisease.Therewillbetimealsoforrelaxation,reflectionandrelationshipbuilding.
REGISTRATION
Theregistrationfee(whichincludeslodging,meals,activitiesandmaterials)is$495.00.
Accompanyingpersonsarewelcomed,andwithoutextraexpenseforlodging.Mostrooms,however,containonlyasinglekingorqueenbed.Asidefrombreakfast,accompanyingpersonsmustpaycostsassociatedwiththemealsandactivitiesinwhichtheychoosetoparticipate.Optionaleatingfacilitiesareavailableinthemainhotel,andinthetownofEstesPark(apleasurable10minutewalkaway).Additionalnights(3dayspriorand/orfollowingthemeeting)maybebookedwithhotelatadiscountedroomrateof$204pernight. The“UltrastructuralPathology101”programhasbeenplannedinaccordancewiththeEssentialAreasandPoliciesoftheAccreditationCouncilforContinuingMedicalEducation(ACCME);however,becausetheprimarytargetedaudienceisnotthatofpracticingphysicians,CMEcreditwillnotbeoffered.
