Thermal insulation: Even withpermanently high service tempera-tures up to 660°C, ULTIMATE offers

superior protection from heat. And sinceULTIMATE is a slug-free, 100 % conversion ofraw material into efficient insulation, it alsoguarantees much better thermal insulationvalues for lightweight products.

Fast installation: ULTIMATE combi-nes an extremely low weight withmaximum flexibility and com-

pressibility. This facilitates transportationand storage on site and even allows work inconfined spaces. And when it comes toinstallation, this is an unbeatably fast, easyand comfortable process.

Cost-efficient solutions: The advan-tages offered by ULTIMATE startwith excellent logistics, but do not

stop after the quick and low-cost installa-tion. Once in place, the material's top perfor-mance reduces the energy losses that aretypically found with high temperature appli-cations. Around the clock. And thus payingoff a bit more every day.

When efficient insulation needs to meet the highest demands,ULTIMATE comes into play. Due to

its outstanding lambda values, ULTIMATEachieves a much higher insulation effectwith distinctly less material than othercommercially available mineral wool pro-ducts. And the higher the operation tempe-rature, the greater the performance lead.ULTIMATE – more efficiency for more perfor-mance.

3 times better:λ (T) by ULTIMATEUp to 45 % reduced weight: ULTIMATE offersthe same performance as conventional insu-lation products at up to 45 % lower weight.(Fig.1)

Up to 44 % better performance:Thanks to itsexcellent lambda value, ULTIMATE's overallinsulation performance is superior to that ofconventional solutions. ULTIMATE: 100 % theright choice. (Fig.2)

Up to 30 % reduced thickness: Get the sameinsulation performance while benefitingfrom a distinctly lower material thickness.(Fig.3)

The symbol that savesyou money: λ (T)

Thermal conductivity,λ (T) or k(T), is the pro-perty of a material that indicates its abilityto conduct heat. It is used primarily inFourier's Law of heat conduction.

It is defined as the amount of heat, ∆Q,transferred over time ∆t through a thicknessL, in a direction normal to a surface area A,due to a temperature difference ∆T, understeady state conditions and when the heattransfer is dependent only on the tempera-ture gradient.

Typical units are SI: W/(m·K) and Englishunits: Btu·ft/(h·ft2·°F). To convert betweenthe two, use the relation 1 Btu·ft/(h·ft2·°F) =1.730735 W/(m·K).

When dealing with building structures, thermal resistance or R-value means what isalso described as thermal insulance. Formaterials installed in series, these thermalresistances (unlike conductances) can sim-ply be added to indicate the thermalresistance of the structure as a whole.Typical SIunits of thermal resistance (Rvalue) = λ/L, are K·m2·W-1.

Energy losses are rapidly becominga most critical cost factor for theeconomic viability of high tempera-

ture applications. For this reason, ULTIMATEoffers an insulation performance that issuperior to that of conventional products.ULTIMATE is able to achieve these excellentlambda values, because it has been conver-ted 100 % from the basic raw material intoefficient insulation and is completely free ofslugs. High operation temperatures at lowcosts – quite simple with ULTIMATE.

ULTIMATE makes keepingcool easy. The surface temperature is one of the mostcritical safety aspects when working on hightemperature applications. However, thanksto their excellent lambda values, insulationsolutions based on ULTIMATE always assurea significantly lower surface temperaturethan traditional insulation materials of thesame thickness. For uncompromising safety.

Increase insulation.Decrease energy spending.

ULTIMATE takes that loadoff your mind.ULTIMATE durably and reliably resists evenextreme pressures – guaranteed by the MSTclassification. Moreover – and this distingu-ishes it from conventional solutions – ULTIMATE afterwards compensates theminimum permissible deformations causedby such extreme conditions and recovers itsoriginal shape: due to its uniquely flexiblefibers.

Since ULTIMATE has been exactlytailored to meet your needs, itunfolds its entire insulation poten-

tial over the full thermal range that is usu-ally required by high temperature applica-tions.

Even at constantly high service temperatu-res up to 660°C, you can rest assured of ULTIMATE protection from heat. Being a topperformer, ULTIMATE offers you most reass-suring security for all customary applica-tions – from tanks, exhaust pipes and chim-neys right up to boilers and furnaces. This isreliability you can build on.

ULTIMATE efficiency means:not overshooting the mark.

8

When MST really matters.

When dealing with high temperature appli-cations, the maximum service temperature(MST) of an insulation material must corr-respond to the highest permanent ,opera-tion temperature of this industrial compo-nent. Even when being exposed to a load of500 Pa (50 kg/m2) for 72 hours, the defor-mation of an insulation material must beless than 5 % during operation at MST.Thus, reliable security is guaranteed. Otherload levels mean different maximum ser-vice temperatures.

The standards to be met by acousticinsulation are becoming more andmore stringent. But ULTIMATE will

help you make that decisive leap forward tostate of the art. Due to its improved propertyprofile, ULTIMATE provides sound absorptionwith up to 50 % less weight than competitiveproducts and thus clearly outclasses conven-tional solutions. As soon as sound waves

penetrate this innovate material, theiracoustic energy is drastically reduced by thefriction in the fiber structure. At the sametime, the resonance frequency of the soundwaves drops below the audible range. In brief:it gets quiet. And compared to stonewool,ULTIMATE achieves this sound reduction atonly half the weight.

Unheard-of advantages –for your workers and for you.
