PROGRAM OVERVIEWThe purpose of this knowledge-based program is to enable the neurologist, neurosurgeon, internist, and/or geriatrician and their associated nurses, nurse practitioners, and/or physical assistants to properly diagnosis patients with neurological conditions, as well as be able to offer them the most current treatment therapies available inclusive of research programs. The program hopes to enable these physicians and health care professionals to handle urgent situations that might arise.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:

GUEST SPEAKER NEIL A. BUSIS, MD, FAAN, is director of community neurology of the University of Pittsburgh Physicians Department of Neurology and visiting clinical professor of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is chief of Neurology and director of the Neurodiagnostic Laboratory at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA. Busis serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), is a former chair and current member of the AAN Medical Economics and Management Committee and is a member of its Meeting Management Committee. He is a former president of the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) and former chair of its Professional Practice Committee. He served on the American Medical Association’s CPT®, Relative Value Update and Practice Expense Advisory Committees representing the AAN and the AANEM.
