① Install the disconnect device with a contact gap of at least 3mm in all poles nearby the units
(Both indoor unit and outdoor unit). The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is
accessible.
② The specifications of the breaker and power cable listed in the table above are determined
based on the maximum power (maximum amps) of the unit.
③ The specifications of the power cable listed in the table above are applied to the
conduit-guarded multi-wire copper cable (like, YJV copper cable, consisting of PE insulated
wires and a PVC cable jacket) used at 40°С and resistible to 90°С (see IEC 60364-5-52). If the
working condition changes, they should be modified according to the related national standard.
④ The specifications of the breaker listed in the table above are applied to the breaker with the
working temperature at 40°С. If the working condition changes, they should be modified
according to the related national standard.

2 UNIT INSTALLATION
Installation Site:
Such a place where cool air can be distributed throughout the room.
Such a place where condensate can be easily drained out.
Such a place that can withstand the weight of indoor unit.
Such a place which has easy access for maintenance.
Such a place where permits easy connection with the outdoor unit.
Such a place where is 1m or more away from other electric appliances such as television, audio
device, etc.
Avoid a location where there is heat source, high humidity or inflammable gas.
Do not use the unit in the immediate surroundings of a laundry, a bath, a shower or a swimming
pool.
Be sure that the installation conforms to the installation dimension diagram.

The space around the unit is adequate for ventilation.
When installing this air handler, please minimize the length of refrigerant tubing as much as possible.
Do not install the air handler in a location either above or below the condenser that violates the
instructions provided with the condenser. Service clearance is to take precedence. Allow a minimum of
24” in front of the unit for service clearance. When installing the unit directly over a finished ceiling (such
as an attic), an emergency drain pan is required under the unit. See local and state codes for
requirements. When installing this unit in an area that may become wet, elevate the unit with a sturdy,
non-porous material. Installation work might lead to physical damage (i.e. a garage), it is advised to
install a protective barrier to prevent such damage.

3.2 Installation Procedure
3.2.1 Evaporator Coil Metering Devices
(1) Remove 9/16 nut, then press the Schneider valve to release pressure, no gas indicates a possible
leak.
(2) After the gas has released, remove the 13/16 nut, Schneider valve and white teflon seal from the
liquid line distributor.
U-MATCH SERIES SERVICE MANUAL
8
(3) Take the tailpiece from the plastic accessory bag and slide the 13/16 nut into place.
(4) Confirm position of the white teflon seal and manually tighten the 13/16 nut.
(5) Torque the 13/16 nut to 20-30 ft-lbs.
Fig. 6
3.2.2 Connection of Pipeline
(1) Select connection pipe as per the capacity of outdoor unit.
(2) Braze suction line. Remove cap closure from suction line.
(3) Braze tailpiece to the line set liquid tube.
(4) Insert the suction line into the connection, slide the rubber grommet at least 18" away from the
braze joint.
Fig. 7
Note: The tightening torque of the 13/16 screw nut shall not be more than 30N·m.
3.2.3 Condensate Drain Pipe
Condensate removal is performed by attaching a 3/4” PVC pipe to the evaporator coil pan and
terminated in accordance with local or state Plumbing/HVAC codes. The installation must include a “P”
style trap and keep it close to the evaporator coil as much as possible. See the following figure for details
of a typical condensate line “P” trap. To prevent potential sweating and dripping on to finished space, it
may be necessary to insulate the condensate drain line located inside the building.

3.3 Matters of Attention
When connecting the indoor unit with the connecting pipe, do not pull the big and small joints of
the indoor unit by force, so as to prevent the capillary of the indoor unit and other pipes from
breaking and leaking.
The connecting pipe shall be supported by proper bracket. The weight of the pipe shall not be
shared by the unit.
When brazing the outdoor unit with the connecting pipe, please make sure that the valve are
wrapped with wet cloth to cool down.
During the installation, we should carry out the thermal insulation for two pieces of drain pipe.
To avoid generation of condensate on the connecting pipe and avoid leakage, the gas pipe and
the liquid pipe of the connecting pipe must be covered by thermal insulating materials, be
bundled by adhesive tape, and be isolated from air.
The joint connecting to the indoor unit must be wrapped by thermal insulating material. There
shall be no gap between the connecting pipe joint and the wall.
Due to there is protective pressure refrigerant in the indoor unit, when loosening the nuts on
the installing site, please pay more attention on the pressure so as to avoid the injury.
After the pipes are wrapped by protective materials, never bend the pipes to form very small angle,
otherwise the pipes may crack or break.
Use adhesive tape to wrap the pipes:
Use adhesive tape to bundle the connecting pipe and the cables together. To prevent condensate
from overflowing from the drain pipe, separate the drain pipe from the connecting pipe and the cables.
Use thermal insulation tape to wrap the pipes from the bottom of the outdoor unit until the upper end
of the pipe where the pipe enters the wall. When wrapping thermal insulation tape, the later circle of tape
must cover half of the front circle of tape.
Wrapped pipe must be fixed to wall by using pipe clamps.
Do not wrap the protective tape too tightly; otherwise the efficiency of thermal insulation may be
decreased. Ensure that the condensate drain tube is separate from the bundled pipes.
After the protective work is completed and the pipes are wrapped, use seal material to block the
hole in the wall, so as to prevent rain and wind from entering the room.
