OPTIONAL MODULE 1 (OM1) The optional OM1 I/O module can be installed by the factory or ordered as a kit and installed in the field. The OM1 provides the following functions:

• Positioner that will accept an analogue signal input of 4-20 mA or 0-10 Vdc or can be turned off to allow use of module as a retransmission/monitor relay/additional switch module only

• Position transmitter with an output of 4-20 mA or 0-10 Vdc • Monitor relay that provides a remote indication for loss of power, over-torque alarm, motor over- temperature alarm and

travel alarm and selector switch position • Motor running • 4 additional SPST output contacts that can be set independently at 10 locations along the stroke. Contacts are

configurable (make or break).

INSTALLATION

To install the OM1 into the actuator, proceed as follows: The OM1 option kit consists of the following parts: - OM1 modulating input/output module - 3 metal spacers (models 006 and 013 only) - 4 screws - 1 flat cable with connectors

SETTING and CONFIGURATION IMPORTANT: The following instructions assume that all start-up and calibration instructions for the base actuator has been performed per the basic instruction handbook MAN 652NA or MAN 652NA_SG. OM1 configuration and setup is done using the controls on the card. To access these controls, the actuator cover must be removed. (Please follow instructions in MAN 652NA or MAN 652NA_SG.)

Important:

Please note that the settings may be performed in any order.

OM1 settings are changed using the following controls, see fig. 19: - Enter configuration mode - dip switch SW4 - Function selection - Three rotary selector switches SW7, SW8, and SW9 - Input and output voltage/current selection - switches SW1, SW3, SW5, and SW6 - Monitor relay contact type (make or break, soldering of pin connections J1 - Confirmation of selection - ENTER pushbutton SW2 - Red LED – illuminates to confirm the acceptance of a selection

MONITOR RELAY FUNCTIONALITY AND SETTING The monitor relay provides remote indication of the following parameters: Table 2: Monitor relay functionality 1 4-20mA input signal lost 2 Over-torque 3 Incorrect direction of travel 4 High temperature 5 Position sensor failure 6 Selector switch in “local” 7 Valve jammed 8 Hardware malfunction 9 Local control panel (if present) – lost communication 10 Over-stroke (exceeds -5 to 95° of travel) 11 BluetoothTM failure (if present) The monitor relay contacts can be set to make or break by soldering the pins of connection J1.

J1

2 3

1

Default setting: with pins 2 and 3 soldered together, the monitor relay contact operates as follows:

- Contact closed in normal condition with relay energized, relay de-energizes and the contact opens to signal an alarm condition.

If the application requires the contact to “make” for an alarm condition, de-solder pins 2-3 and solder pins 1-2 of connection J1.
