TWENTY-FOURTH PUBLIC MANIFESTO The month of August is ending but the demands of the forty social and popular organizations that approve this manifesto remain intact. Our voices unite with the cries of indignation shed by our people, in direct repudiation of the deplorable drug dictatorship. Among these calls and firm proposals, we raise this Twenty-fourth public manifesto: 1.- 24 weeks have passed and we continue to condemn the haphazard improvisation of the pandemic response which includes the lack of medicines in hospitals despite the 100 billions allocated to the emergency. We demand the creation of an independent oversight system that operates outside the intervening commissions and the sycophants who are part of the corruption machinery imposed by the government. 2.- We recognize the importance of attempting to activate the economy while bearing in mind all health related security and transport measures but we will never accept that it be reactivated at the cost of massive layoffs of workers. They are the basis of the wealth of any economic system and these jobs must be protected. 3.- We condemn the militarization of all Honduran territories and maintain that the military is the operational arm of the extractivist business and businessmen. These same actors are responsible for the violations of the rights of the defenders of water, land and freedom of expression. At the same time, we stand in solidarity with the Garífuna, Tolupán and Lenca peoples and all the defenders of the common goods who are being murdered and criminalized for the defense of their territories.

TWENTY-FOURTH PUBLIC MANIFESTO

The month of August is ending but the demands of the forty social and popular organizations that approve this manifesto remain intact. Our voices unite with the cries of indignation shed by our people, in direct repudiation of the deplorable drug dictatorship. Among these calls and firm proposals, we raise this Twenty-fourth public manifesto:

1.- 24 weeks have passed and we continue to condemn the haphazard improvisation of the pandemic response which includes the lack of medicines in hospitals despite the 100 billions allocated to the emergency.

4.- We urge the population not to lower their guard when it comes to health related security measures against Covid, especially in the face of the false data that the government continues to present and which does not correspond to reality. In neighborhoods and communities across the country, the pandemic continues to provide our families and health professionals with reasons to mourn.

5.- We warn that there is a campaign orchestrated by Juan Orlando Hernández's advisors to reduce the strength of the ‘Where Is The Money’ campaign. We encourage all opposition sectors not to fall for the lies spun by the dictatorship and to continue strengthening the caravans and their organizations. We encourage this denunciation because the popular struggle is the antidote to all dictatorships.
