Folkestyre eller folkeligt selvstyre. Ordet demokrati blev frste gang anvendt af grkerne i slutn. af 500-tallet f.kr. som betegnelse for en ny organisering af det politiske liv baseret p lighedsprincipper: alle borgeres ret til at tale i den styrende forsamling og ligheder i politiske rettigheder. Der skelnes mellem direkte deltagelse og reprsentativt demokrati, hvor borgerne vlger og derefter kontrollerer deres reprsentanter.I Danmark blev et reprsentativt demokrati gradvist indfrt fra Stnderforsamlingerne 1834 over Junigrundloven 1849. Systemskiftet 1901 og indfrelsen af almindelig valgret for mnd og kvinder samt overgang til forholdstalsmde 1915-20. Siden 1960erne er der fremlagt mange forslag om deltagerdemokrati og nrdemokrati, hvor borgerne i hjere grad inddrages i udformningen af de beslutninger, der udgr rammerne for deres tilvrelse. Ja, s kunne jeg godt tnke mig det, men kun hvis det var sikkert og man var sikker p at det kom frem. Men ellers s syntes jeg at det egentlig er en lidt sjov tradition at man str dernede og venter og skriver p et papir og sdan noget, det er hyggeligt p en mde.

The Panopticon ("all-seeing") functioned as a round-the-clock surveillance machine. Its design ensured that no prisoner could ever see the 'inspector' who conducted surveillance from the privileged central location within the radial configuration. The prisoner could never know when he was being surveilled -- mental uncertainty that in itself would prove to be a crucial instrument of discipline.French philosopher Michel Foucault described the implications of 'Panopticism' in his 1975 work Discipline & Punish: The Birth of the Prison --

Da mobiltelefonen er det ultimativt private medie, er det sledes lidt overraskende, at der ikke er strre opmrksomhed p svel de negative risikofaktorer som p de positive potentialer for tillid. Men mske er det netop telefonens private karakter brugeren har oplevelsen af at vre i kontrol - samt det faktum, at den bde er allestedsnrvrende og selvflgelig og samtidig lille og ikke-opsigtsvkkende (i sig selv), der gr diskussionen om tillid og risiko uvsentlig for de fleste brugere.
