TVLP, based in Silicon Valley, California (USA), is the Institute of Technology Entrepreneurship. In the last 6 years it has educated and trained entrepreneurs,scientists, innovators, and technology leaders from more than 42 countries, both individuals and large teams. PROGRAMS

TVLP Institute offers three customized 1-week programs - xRed, xBlue, xGreen -and a 3-week comprehensive Flagship program. All programs come with several Lab opportunities, to create a fully custom learning experiences, and a certificate of completion including the Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship.

xRed, xBlue, and xGreen are a super immersion 1-week programs, aimed for acquiring or boosting entrepreneurial skills, that enable absorption of the Silicon Valley Mindset, the unique venture culture of the most entrepreneurial region of the United States of America. Each program is designed to explore one of the main parts important for training in technology entrepreneurship.Flagship is the most comprehensive program including Red, Blue, and Green.Participants can join one or more programs, and in any order. E.g. you can attend one program per year completing the TVLP training in 3 years or join the compre-hensive Flagship during 3 weeks in Summer.

Week STRUCTUREWhether you choose a 1-week, a 2-week, or a longer program, each week has the same structure: a Monday to Friday immersion made up of CLASSES: instructor-led courses (11 hr) LABS: team or individual work sessions (7-9 hr) SOCIAL-BUSINESS ACTIVITIES (15-18 hr) offsite meetings, site visits, networking events, talks

Schedule includes some days mostly spent on campus and others usedto do site visits and attend meetings and special events.

Morning Classes provide knowledge of entrepreneurship and new venture creation with the unique Silicon Valley approach and insights on emerging technologies. Emulating the American Business School model, case study materials and articles will be provided to participants prior to the start of the course and will form the basis of an in-depth classroom discussion.

Afternoon Labs, introduced in 2020, create a custom learning experience around several main courses of study, that are specific for # Entrepreneurs # Scientists # Executives or Technology leaders Labs help participants to apply newly acquired knowledge to a project, to ex-change ideas in groupwork sessions, or to acquire the Silicon Valley point of view on a specific field or technology. Labs sessions can be customized for participants attending in a small team (e.g. from the same company). Optional sessions of individual mentoring can be included to address specific learning needs and create an even more personalized experience.

As part of the site visits and networking, you will hear from successful inve-stors, entrepreneurs, startup or Silicon Valley iconic companies. Networking events are organized in evening, providing additional opportunities to connect with local talents.

REDxDesign and Launch a new ventureRED is a 1-week immersion program aimed to advance your venture laun-ch skills. BLUExRaise capital and generate GrowthBLUE is a 1-week immersion program aimed to advance your knowledge in financing, running, and growing a new venture. Participants will learn from venture capitalists and seasoned entrepreneurs about the investor mindset, how to generate traction, startup finance, and capital sources. GREENxLeadership and Team creationGREEN is a 1-week immersion program aimed to advance participant abili-ties to empower and drive a team. The program is a perfect match for peo-ple interested in improving leadership and team building skills, especially for the scale-up company executives, managers, as well as consultants in HR. In general all people interested in becoming a better leader should at-tend the xGreen program.

FLAGSHIP

The acclaimed Flagship program is a three-week comprehensive coursegeared to prepare entrepreneurs, scientists, and CEOs emulate the best practices of that have made Silicon Valley the icon of innovation and suc-cess. The program includes the classes of xRed, xBlue, and xGreen, and is carefully designed to deliver four key elements:

The Flagship program is an enlightening entrepreneurship journey through various aspects of start-up. At the conclusion of this program, participants will have a clear understanding of what it takes to succeed as an entre-preneur, master the tools, and acquire the knowledge and contacts ne-eded for success. A flexible approach to learning allows participants who are already into the start-up journey to attend one or more of the courses that best match their needs.

A significant part of the program is dedicated to personalized interaction with experienced mentors comprising leading venture capitalists, successful entrepreneurs, business school professors or experts in specific fields. Participants will also have the opportunity to consult with these experts in their areas of interest. Flagship attendees are drawn from around the world after a rigorous selec-tion process. The diversity provides an invigorating environment to interact with global peers and expand one’s horizon. Over the course of the program participants will understand other cultures and build solid, lifelong connecti-ons which could potentially lead to business partnerships. The TVLP alumni network is a very useful resource for information and contacts.The Venture Lab will corroborate the program classes and provide a power-ful methology that can accelerate your venture. The teached approach can be applied to any project making the Flagship more than a startup accelerator.

FLAGSHIP (continue)

Following the creation of pitch deck, participants will have the opportu-nity to work on personal development and improve their communication skills. Experts will provide real-time feedback and help you to become a skilled public speaker.

During the Lab you will work on your venture. Experienced mentors will help you to refine your project. VCs and entrepreneurs will boost and fine tune your pitch during multiple pitching opportunities.

Graduation

At the end of a very intense course, participants will be awarded a Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship.

Course work approach

The entire program is structured to maximize learning. TVLP adopts a unique, holistic approach to learning. Alternating on-campus, off-campus events ensure participants are always fresh and energized. Networking events are typically held in the evenings in a relaxed atmosphere, provi-ding an opportunity to freely engage with Silicon Valley professionals. Site visits expose participants to successful investors entrepreneurs and corporate executives.From the second week of the program participants will have the oppor-tunity to attend events that are specific to their interest and to follow up with connections made during the program.Flagship is the most complete program of the TVLP Institute.

Classes

During the first week the participants will get an overview of the Silicon Valley culture and learn the fundamentals of starting a venture. The focus of the second week is the launch phase where emphasis is on the fundamentals of running a business. Classes that are relevant to a growth phase of the venture. The third week is devoted to expan-ding the team and preparing exit strategies. For a full list of classes, see classes included in xRed, xBlue, and xGreen.

Venture Lab

While classes provide knowledge of new venture creation using the uni-que Silicon Valley approach, Lab afternoon sessions are an in-depth training in the preparation and delivery of an effective pitch. VCs are extremely busy individuals and listen to thousands of pitches every year while investing in only a few. This Lab will help understand the VC mindset and create the most effective 30 second or longer pitchthat will meet the expectation of venture capitalists and angel investors.

SOCIAL-BUSINESS ACTIVITIES

Meetings, Site visits, Special TalksMeetings, Site visits, or special Workshops will take place during some full-day of social-business activities. You will be exposed to a key area of Silicon Valley so you gain a deeper understanding of the “most entrepreneurial valley of the world” - Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Mountain View, San Jose, and San Francisco.Participants will have the opportunity to develop business connections and learn from real-life experience of investors, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and professionals all based in the Valley.

Site visits and social activities blend well with the classroom sessions making for an exhilarating, interesting and educative course. They ge-nerally include some of the most promising technology startups of the moment (e.g. Carbon 3D or DocuSign), incubators shaping the tech-nology landscape (e.g. GSVlabs, or Plug & Play Tech Center), or localiconic companies (e.g.,Google, Amazon, Netgear, or Intel). Participants will meet angel investors and Sand Hill Road venture capitalists. Breaks will occur in the most famous coffee shops, where you will often find entrepreneurs coding at their computers or meeting with investors.

NetworkingNetworking opportunities are everywhere during a TVLP program. We will attend famous networking events provided by organizations such as the Churchill Club, VC task force, or Orrick Total Access as well as events of the TVLP Institute. The program will give you the opportunity to network with local entrepreneurs, investors, and service providers to help with building or scaling your business.Networking events will take place during the afternoon and the evening.Some TVLP programs include a Welcome event, Private dinners with Special Guests, or panel discussions. A Graduation Ceremony takes place on the last day of each program.

Naeem ZafarTVLP faculty member of Identify New Business OpportunitiesNaeem Zafar is a technology veteran and successful serial entrepreneur. He started or worked at six startups. Naeem co-founded and served as the CEO of Bitzer Mobile (Acquired by Oracle in Nov. 2013). He also tea-ches Entrepreneurship at the Haas school of business, University of Cali-fornia Berkeley and at Brown University. Naeem Zafar has published six books. He is founder and managing director of Concordia Ventures. Mr. Zafar served as the president and CEO of several venture backed te-chnology companies and as a board member/advisor to 35 companies. He holds degrees from Brown University and the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Tammy L. MadsenTVLP faculty member of ScalabilityDr. Madsen is Associate Professor of Strategy at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University. Her research interests in the intersection of strategy, innovation, and organizational evolution have received several awards including the President’s Special Recogni-tion Award and the Leavey School’s Extraordinary Faculty Awards. Tammy holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (UC Santa Barbara) and a M.S. in Systems Management (USC). She began her professio-nal career as evaluation engineer on the F14 aircraft and worked as design engineer and program manager at General Motors.

Carol M. SandsTVLP faculty member of Select & Manage InvestorsCarol Sands is the Founder of The Angels’ Forum, one of the largest and most successful Silicon Valley group of 30 high net worth private investors, all of whom have created their own wealth. She is also Managing General Partner of The Halo Funds. Carol has spent more than 30 years with investing, entrepreneurial, and/or large corporate institutions. If the program is cancelled, any paid fees will be returned to you. If the pro-gram is not cancelled, then any fees paid are non-refundable. If Flagship program is cancelled while a com-bination of one or more Red, Blue, Green programs is confirmed, participants are moved to the combina-tion above and any paid fee difference is returned to participants. How to apply

Application Deadlines and Decision Notification

Applicants will be notified within about 10 days of the original application date.

There are 3-4 selection rounds for every program. About 50% of participants are selected during the first round. Some application rounds may not take place if all valid applicants are selected during first rounds. You are strongly encouraged to apply in first round.

VISA: If you need a visa to enter the USA, please consider the time required to apply. We STRONGLY advise you to apply to first round or at least 30 days prior to start date. Contact your local US embassy to learn about Visa wait time.

Programs for individuals and small teams are limited to about 15 participants that are 21 years old or older.A good understanding of the spokenand written English language is required. Admission to the programs is subjectto an application process.
