Turn Architects’ Plans
Into Complete Wooden Structures
– Everything in a Single ArchiCAD Model
What is ArchiFrame?
ArchiFrame is an add-on that extends
ArchiCAD into a complete design tool for
wooden structures. ArchiFrame provides
tools for designing wall framing, column
and beam structures, intermediate floors
and roof structures. These tools make it
possible to reshape planks and beams in
any way to get the desired result.
Everything you need is inside a single
ArchiCAD file – including 3D models and
2D elevations with semi-automated
layouts and listings. Individual planks can
be hand manufactured using ArchiFrame
dimension drawings and cut lists, or
produced with CNC.
Wall structures
• Automatically drawn dimension lines
• Automatically generated cut lists
• Editable in elevation, floor plan and 3D
• Projections available from front, top,
back and bottom
Multiple layers and corners
• Real world layers
• Automatic connections at corners
• Adjustable rules for the studs and
other planks at corners
Roof structures• Drawing planes help to place tilted pieces
• I-beams with plywood reinforcements used
in this example
• Support for timber frame joint types (e.g.
dovetail or tenon & mortice) and simpler
angled cuts etc.
Floor structures
• Beams for floor elements can be matched
to the construction grid
• Full control for every single beam
• Cuts made in steel beams using the
ArchiFrame groove-tool
Output to:
• Dimension drawings for
manual manufacturing
• Cut lists (xls or txt)
• Prints
• CNC Hundegger bvn, btl
for Weinmann
• Right Hundegger k2.exe
• Below BTL Viewer
Why ArchiFrame?
1. No need to remodel the building from the
architect’s plans. Less scope for error.
Having everything in the same model makes
collision checking easy.
2. Modelling freedom: Every plank is individual, and can
be adapted however necessary (sooner or later an automated
process will fail to handle every case in any program)
3. All ArchiCAD features available: e.g. team server able to work in
Windows and Mac. ArchiCAD users will not need to learn the base
program.
4. Built in CNC support for Hundegger bvn and btl for Weinmann
5. Highly customizable via xml-settings files and scripts
6. Easy to use, according to our user base

“We use ArchiCAD and ArchiFrame to produce structural drawings for
wooden houses, and for element and module production. We have
produced about 270 elements and 330 modules between the beginning
of 2014 and January 2015. I can recommend ArchiFrame for similar
use.”Allan Møller, Prosjekteringsavdeling/Designing Department, Skanska Husfabrikken AS
“At Jörnträ we use ArchiFrame as a tool to streamline our design
process. We use ArchiFrame to model walls, floors and roof structures.
We are very pleased with the results so far.”
Patrik Eriksson, Civil engineer, discipline construction, Jörnträhus

“We have used ArchiFrame since 2011. We get everything from the
brochure to the CNC-output from ArchiCAD, ArchiFrame and ArchiLogs.
We are very pleased with this setup.”
Tanja Rytkönen, Vice President Design, Honkarakenne
“We have used ArchiFrame since 2012. I think ArchiFrame & ArchiCAD
are the best software for framing on the market today.”
