provide a hard copy of your child/rens Summative Report please let me know via email when I send you the link, and I will ensure that the hard copy is passed to your child before Thursday 13 December 2018.

Once you have taken the weekend to read through your child/ren’s Summative Report, I encourage you to approach the teacher concerned or me to clarify any grade or comment.

Our teachers hope that parents will welcome this initiative to distribute Summative Reports a little earlier to allow for interviews if required and celebrations of superb student achievement.

Violence in Schools – Please be informed regarding the Policy Release from the Minister of Education

Violence in schools is a complex issue which impacts students, staff and community members. No matter how rare or frequent incidents are, school staff need support and guidance.

A three year action plan has been developed to help principals and school staff address violence in their schools. It includes actions that will:

provide school staff with clarity around their authority and responsibilities

provide training for school staff

clarify when suspensions and exclusions are appropriate and required

provide new learning settings for the most violent students

guide principals in developing ‘good standing’ requirements for their school behaviour policies.

The plan relates to students who are intentionally violent and want to cause psychological and/or physical harm to others. It does not relate to students with a disability who either cannot control their behaviour or do not intend to harm others.

Let’s take a stand together is the State Government’s Statement on violence in schools.
