MEDIUM VOLTAGE POWER CAPACITOR 200KVAR

I. SCOPE :This specification should be applicable to outdoor medium voltage powercapacitor intended for power factor correction of medium alternatingvoltage power system.

II. STANDARD OF MANUFACTURE AND TEST :IEC 871 : Shunt power capacitors for AC systems having a rated voltage

above 660 V.

III.DESCRIPTION :

A. SERVICE CONDITIONS :

The capacitor shall be designed and fabricated, suitable for outdoor

service in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam under the following conditions:- Altitude : Up to 40m above sea level- Ambient air temperature :

+ Maximum : 55C+ Highest mean over any period of 24 hours : 45C+ Highest mean over any period of 01 year : 35C

- Maximum relative humidity : 95%- Climate : Tropical, salty atmosphere, industrial contamination.- Solar radiation : 1000W/m2

- Maximum wind velocity : 30m/s- Lightning stroke expectancy : 120 thunderstorm days per year.

B. CONSTRUCTION :

- The medium voltage power capacitor shall be single phase unit.- Type of service : outdoor.- Rated voltage (Un) : 8.66 KV.- Rated current (In) : 23A.- Rated frequency : 50 Hz.- Rated capacity : 200 KVAR- Maximum permissible voltage :

+ 12hours in every 24 hours : 110 % Un+ 30 min. in every 24 hours : 115 % Un+ 05 min. in every 24 hours : 120 % Un+ 01 min. in every 24 hours : 130 % Un

IV. TESTING REQUIREMENT :

1. Testing items :

a. Routine tests :- Capacitance measurement.

- Capacitor loss tangent (tan) measurement.- Voltage test between terminals.- AC voltage test between terminals and container.- Test of terminal discharge device.- Sealing test.

b. Type tests :- Thermal stability test.

-Capacitor loss tangent (tan) measurement at elevated temperature.

- AC voltage test between terminals and container.- Lightning impulse voltage test between terminals and container.- Short circuit discharge test

2. Requirements :

In order to ensure the quality of supplied goods , in case of bid winning ,the Tenderer shall supply routine test and copies of type test report metthe following requirements:

a. Routine test shall be performed for each equipment.

- Testing sample : The same as the supplied item (manufacturer,original country, manufactures code as specified in tender document).

- Testing items : Including testing items according to IEC 871.- Testing values shall be corresponding values as stated in Section III

of this specification. If in section III, there are no corresponding values,testing values will be selected according to the standard specified insection II of this specification.

V. REQUIREMENT OF TECHNICAL TENDER DOCUMENT :

- Technical description, data sheets, catalogues and other materialsubmitted with the quotation must enable the buyer's engineers tothoroughly evaluate the proposals as to its compliance with the inquiryspecifications.

- Minimum requirements :+ Detailed summary of deviations to inquiry specification.+ Completed inquiry data sheet expressed at clause VI.+ Type test report met the requirements as specified section IV.+ Brochures and catalogues containing outline dimensions, main
