At age 28, Richard J. Bryan took the reins of a $120 million family-owned car dealership business when his father was forced to retire due to illness. That alone was a challenge. Worse, the business was losing $3.5 million a year. In his 10 years as CEO, Richard’s leadership style matured from a controlling hands-on micro manager to a more strategic leader and coach.With the help of his mentor Frank, Richard was able to apply creative strategies, articulate a crystal-clear vision, hire the right people, forge a dynamic team and ultimately help the business to fi rst survive and then thrive in a highly competitive industry. In 2008 he sold the car business and started a commercial real estate business.Today Richard shares the valuable lessons he learned with business owners and leaders so that they too can build a team of A-Players, grow their revenue and profi ts and develop an eff ective succession plan.
