XXVII SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
From the Pastor’s Desk
“Risk nothing, gain nothing” is an often-heard saying that
is even used in the popular Texas hold ‘em games. It can
also be used for this weekend’s readings. While the first
reading speaks of the struggles of faith, Jesus, in the
Gospel,
speaks of the power of faith, along with the importance of
trusting that God will take care. Knowledge and trust of
our Master’s care, (being fed and forgive IF we ask), is
enough reward for our efforts at hard work. In the second
reading St. Paul speaks against the spirit of cowardice. “It
is ok to be afraid, but, it’s NOT ok to let your fear
control
your actions.” God often calls us to do things that are
frightening. It could be as something as big as leaving your
job to something as simple as silently praying a hail Mary
and not saying a word while other “friends” are gossiping
about another. When we respond to God’s scary requests,
we will receive one of the greatest gifts, asked for by the
apostles in today’s Gospel – an increase in faith.

VIRTUS TRAINING You are invited to attend the Virtus
training workshop to learn how to
protect the children of God on
Thursday, November 7th at 6:00pm in the cafeteria. In order
to attend, please register at: www.virtusonline.org
Food will be provided at 5:30pm. The training will begin at
6:00pm, followed by a Bilingual mass. We will have this mass
instead of our daily Spanish mass at 7:00pm.
EUCHARIST ADORATION
Come spend time with the Lord,
every Thursday from 8:00am to
2:00pm in the St. Joseph Chapel
with Eucharistic Adoration.
FELLOWSHIP SUNDAY
This Sunday fellowship will be hosted by the youth
group. They will be selling breakfast and lunch after
mass.
HEALING SERVICE & MASS
On Friday, December 6th , we will have a healing service &
mass at 7:00pm with Fr. Mario A. Majano and Fr. Daniel P. Leary
from St. Andrew’s church.
