• Pilot Gold is a gold exploration company with 17 projects in the western United States, Canada, and Turkey.

• More than 2400 claims, licenses, private parcels, and royalties• Numerous leases, operating agreements, and permits• Pilot Gold developed an in‐house land database application to track 

all of these• Combined with ArcGIS to make up Pilot’s GIS‐Land system

• Pilot Gold (and its predecessors) were losing track of agreements and due dates

• Needed a better way to remember how many claims and acres were at each project

• Bureau of Land Management LR2000 Database– BLM doesn’t have GIS service for claims anymore– BLM’s LR2000 Excel download format is unfriendly and it’s tedious to 

reformat to be useful in a database or GIS– LR2000 doesn’t have the queries or reports I’d like to use

Why?

• Ingenis Consulting of Reno created a database and browser‐based application for entering, maintaining, and reporting all of our land data

• Pilot already had a SQL database server in our Elko office for drilling and geochemistry data

• Used our existing database infrastructure
