Define ClassificationsDefine Classifications• Original Classification - an initial

determination that information requires, in the interest of national security, protection against unauthorized disclosure.

• Derivative Classification - the incorporating, paraphrasing, restating or generating in new form information that is already classified, and marking the newly developed material consistent with the classification markings that apply to the source information.

Question: What are the three levels of classification and what differentiates them?

Answer: Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret. The difference is the amount of

damage the unauthorized disclosure could cause, and how it was classified.
